Clubs & Socs 📣 Welcome Week is one of the biggest opportunities of the year to meet new students, build your community and grow your club or society 🎪

Whether you’re joining us at the Welcome Fair or running your own events during the week, a bit of prep now will make it much easier for interested students to take that next step.

Make sure your membership, events and socials are ready to go before Welcome gets underway 👉

If someone discovers your club or society at the Fair, you want them to be able to join while they’re interested 📲

Make sure your membership is set up and live before Welcome Week, with the right price and details listed.

Not set up yet, or need help getting your membership ready? Get in touch with the SRC Clubs & Societies team and we can help you get sorted ✅

Don’t make students go searching for how to join 🤔

Once your membership is live, have the link ready to share at your stall and events. A QR code is an easy way to let students go straight from meeting you to signing up on their phone.

Test everything beforehand and make sure everyone helping at your stall knows how students can join.

Meeting you at the Fair should only be the beginning 💡

Have something ready to tell new students about, whether that’s a taster session, first meeting, social or Welcome Week event.

Give people a clear next step and make sure they know where to find the details 🤝

Got an event coming up? Get it promoted on your socials and make sure your membership is ready for anyone who wants to get involved 🎭

Not everyone will join on the spot, and that’s okay!

Plenty of students will follow you first and decide later, so make sure your main social accounts are easy to find, active and clear about what you’ve got coming up 📆

Share your Welcome events, introduce your club or society and keep pointing interested students towards your membership page.

And if your membership still needs set up, speak to the Clubs & Societies team before Welcome Week ✅

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for Summer De-Stress this year. Whether you came along to one event or loads, we hope you met new people, made some great memories and found a reason to take a break this summer.

However, we’re not done yet! Tickets for our final Summer De-stress event - our Postgrad Ceilidh - go live this Friday on the 7th of August! We’d love to see you there to say a proper goodbye 👋

Postgrad Ceilidh: Haste Ye Back! 🎉 💃

Looking for a night of ceilidh dancing, Scottish treats, and making memories with friends? ✨

Join us on Thursday 27th August from 6:30pm–9pm in the Kelvin Gallery University of Glasgow Main Building, for an unforgettable evening celebrating our amazing postgraduate students!

After all of your hardworking this summer, join us if you're finishing up or just fancy a break before the next chapter begins!

💃 Ceilidh Dancing – Try your hand (and feet!) at the joyful Scottish tradition of a ceilidh (pronounced kay-lee) which features a live band and a whole lot of fun. No experience needed.
🍬 Scottish Snacks & Sweet Treats – From shortbread to Irn-Bru, tuck into classic Scottish snacks.
💌 “Haste Ye Back” Postcard Station – Write a welcome message to the next group of international students arriving in Glasgow.
