🎳🏅 Whizz Kids have been exploring the Commonwealth Games this afternoon!

After watching a video of the bowls event, the children enjoyed playing their own game of bowls in the nursery. Using a dice as the target, they rolled the ball to see who could get closest! This fun activity encouraged turn-taking, hand-eye coordination, concentration and gross motor skills.

🌟 Bright Stars have been learning all about the Commonwealth Games! 🌍🏅

The children enjoyed meeting Finnie the Unicorn 🦄, learning about different sports and why it's important to warm up before exercise. They had lots of fun taking part in farmyard yoga, developing their gross motor skills, balance, coordination and communication by copying animal poses and sounds. 🐮🐷🐴

A fantastic morning of active learning and fun! 💛✨

🏅🔥 Masterminds Commonwealth Games!

The children took part in their own torch relay around the garden. They showed fantastic teamwork by taking turns, passing the torch to their friends and cheering each other on from the sidelines! 👏🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

A wonderful activity to build communication, confidence, teamwork and gross motor skills! 🌟

🧊🎨 Ice Painting Fun with the Bright Stars! 🎨🧊

The Bright Stars had so much fun exploring painting with ice! ❄️😊

The children showed lots of curiosity as they explored the cold texture of the ice and enjoyed making colourful marks on the paper. As they painted, we talked about what happens when we mix different colours together, supporting their colour recognition and encouraging early thinking and problem-solving skills. 🌈✨

🏡 Home Link Idea:
Try making your own ice paints at home by freezing coloured water or watered-down paint in an ice cube tray with lolly sticks.

🍉🍊🍈 Whizz Kids Summer Fruit Tasting! 🍈🍊

This week, the Whizz Kids went on a walk to Sainsbury's to collect a selection of fruit for our Summer Bucket List fruit tasting activity. 🛒☀️

Today, the children enjoyed tasting a variety of different fruits, including grapefruit, cantaloupe melon, orange watermelon, and plums. They explored the different colours, textures, smells, and flavours, sharing their thoughts about which fruits they liked the most. 🍇😊
