👋
Hi, everyone.

đŸ—Ŗī¸đŸ—ŗī¸
Tomorrow we will talk about what people's experiences were of voting in the May 2026 Scottish Parliament election.

🧐
The Electoral Commission UK have a few questions that they would like to ask you... might put them on

SPIN THE WHEEL 🤩

🤔
I also wonder about some things that we can do to help make voting better for people the next time ... and that could be sooner than we think.

😍
See you tomorrow!

🤩
Thanks so much to everyone for joining us today to speak more about .

😍
- I have had so much great feedback about your presentation and how accessible it was for people to follow.

🤞
Hopefully we can stay in touch and help with the promotion of independent advocacy going forward and be involved in any work that you are doing.

❓
Is advocacy a MUST? (Sadie)

✅
Most people felt YES and highlighted Citizen and Collective Advocacy models as being more preventative and relationship-based, although there was agreement that different kinds of advocacy are needed in different situations.

đŸĨ¤
John David Gallon - it was lovely to get a chance to meet quickly for a catch-up. Have fun with People First Highland and The Discovery College tomorrow. Thanks Amy Bailey for letting me away.

đŸĨŗ

5 MSPs have been nominated for the 2 roles of Deputy Presiding Officers:

The Deputy Presiding Officers have the same duties when acting in place of the Presiding Officer, but they:
- are able to continue to support their party (if they belong to a political party)
- take part in business, including speaking in debates and voting, unless chairing proceedings in the Chamber

The Deputy Presiding Officers also support the Presiding Officer to represent the Scottish Parliament at home and abroad.

đŸ—ŗī¸
Nominations are:

Clare Adamson SNP
Claire Baker Scottish Labour Party
Miles Briggs Scottish Conservatives
Katy Clark for Cunninghame South
Stuart McMillan SNP

🤞
Good luck to all of you!
