π
I do love a good plan!
π
Thank you to everyone who came along online today and to others who sent me their ideas by email, text, audio messages and lovely telephone calls! β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ

(won't let me tag you!) (Gael Gordon)
We are all so proud of you, but at the same time we are REALLY sad and frustrated to hear that you aren't able to sit the actual exam due to rules enforced by Education Scotland... education should fit around people.
π
A big thumbs up to Glasgow Clyde College () for being a past, present and future support for .
π€
As for The Assembly plans for the future are as follows:
1. Support Romi to be able to sit her history exam.
2. Challenge the closure of the Aberdeen Bus Ticketing office, which will have a huge effect on people with learning disabilities and others who don't have access to online technology or know how to use it safely.
3. Build a new Care Charges campaign to run for the new 1 1/2 years
4. Regional focus on how local councils work, tours of City Chambers, hosting a meeting (sponsored by ) to talk about the Assembly and local political engagement.
.. can't give all of the secrets away! βΊοΈ
We will hopefully see you next week when People's Voice Media
come to speak with us about
π
experience of Adult Social care in Scotland.
Have a great weekend!

π
Hi, everyone.
π
Apologies - there have been a few changes about tomorrow so apologies for the late email/post.
π€
Tomorrow you need to decide what you want the Assembly do do over the next few months (September - January):
π·. Getting rid of Care Charges / Rally?
π₯. Conference / What about and where?
π§ββοΈπ. NHS / More disability awareness training?
π«. Health and Social Care?
π€. Employment?
π . Housing?
βοΈ. Learning Disability, Autism and Neurodivergence Bill (LDAN)?
π§βπ«. Education?
π
See you tomorrow!

Thanks so much to everyone for coming along on Friday to speak about during The Scottish Parliament election last month.
π§
We went through the Electoral Commission UK's 2026 accessibility survey.
β
This survey is to help them understand the things that are working well for people and the things that need to improve.
π»
As an example most people who come to the Assembly would not have been able to fill in this survey without support for many reasons.
ππ³οΈ
We heard that accessibility is still a big barrier for people with learning disabilities, autistic people and others to be able to take part in elections and be confident to vote.
π§
I will email your answers and ideas to the Electoral Commission UK tomorrow and invite them to come to one of your Friday Assembly meetings.
π
For people who couldn't come on Friday and others who might be interested β the link to the survey is below.
π
Hope that you have all had a lovely weekend!

π
Hi, everyone.
π£οΈπ³οΈ
Tomorrow we will talk about what people's experiences were of voting in the May 2026 Scottish Parliament election.
π§
The Electoral Commission UK have a few questions that they would like to ask you... might put them on
SPIN THE WHEEL π€©
π€
I also wonder about some things that we can do to help make voting better for people the next time ... and that could be sooner than we think.
π
See you tomorrow!

Thanks so much to everyone for joining us today to speak more about .
π
- I have had so much great feedback about your presentation and how accessible it was for people to follow.
π€
Hopefully we can stay in touch and help with the promotion of independent advocacy going forward and be involved in any work that you are doing.
β
Is advocacy a MUST? (Sadie)
β
Most people felt YES and highlighted Citizen and Collective Advocacy models as being more preventative and relationship-based, although there was agreement that different kinds of advocacy are needed in different situations.
π₯€
John David Gallon - it was lovely to get a chance to meet quickly for a catch-up. Have fun with People First Highland and The Discovery College tomorrow. Thanks Amy Bailey for letting me away.
π₯³
and now ... the weekend!
Enjoy and relax!
