Who remembers when Santa visited Craigton Primary and handed out gifts to all the boys and girls. You would also have party games and little cups of juice and crisps or sweets to eat as a treat too.

🔥 Penny for the Guy!
The good old days…
When we used to drag a stuffed old jumper around in a pram, asking for a few pence
Our “Guy” always looked tragic newspaper legs, dad’s work boots, and a scary mask from Woolies. But we were so proud of him!
We’d collect a few coins, dash to the shop, and blow the lot on Space Dust and a can of Tizer. 💥
Bonfire Night back then smelled of smoke, sparklers, and burnt jacket potatoes
My mum would never let us dress up and pretend to be the Guy though — she’d heard one of those awful stories doing the rounds about it ending badly, and that was enough to frighten the life out of us. 😳 I often wonder if it was just here-say or if it actually happened
We’d spend days helping out on the estate, dragging wood back for the bonfire while the older lot built it up — I hated throwing our Guy on in the end! 😂
And honestly… where did all those old prams even come from? We always had one lying about
the same ones we used later for our dodgy go-karts. 🛞
Different times… ☹️
Who else remembers collecting wood or making a Guy for Bonfire Night?
