📣 Summer Composition Challenge: The Winners! 🌟🏅

Over the summer break, our tutor Zoe set her students a creative challenge: to compose their very own piece of music. A brilliant way to keep the creativity flowing and stay connected to music over the holidays. 🎹

And the results? Absolutely wonderful. Here are our winners:
🏆 Best Title: Max Taylor for his piece "Sunlight Sonata"
🎹 Winner (Beginner Piano): Jessica Morin for her piece "My Little Bumblebee"
🎹 Winner (Intermediate Piano): Yixin Huang for his piece "Ice Blast"

Congratulations to all of them! We are so incredibly proud of every single student who took part, composing your own music takes real creativity, courage and dedication. A huge well done to all of our winners and a massive thank you to Zoe for putting this together. What a brilliant activity for our students! 🎹⭐

Huge congratulations to Amelie! 🎸⭐

Amelie, one of our guitar and bass students learning with tutor Cameron Gray, has passed her Grade 5 Bass exam, with Distinction! An absolutely outstanding result and a fantastic achievement to be so proud of.

A massive well done to Amelie for all her hard work and dedication, and a big shoutout to her tutor Cameron for all the support and guidance along the way. We couldn't be more proud! 🎸🌟

🌟 Tutor Spotlight: Cameron Hunter 🎸🌟

Cameron has been obsessed with music since the age of three, attending rock concerts from the age of five and spending his entire school life in the music corridor, joining every group that would let a guitarist through the door. 🎸

In his words, driven by an urge to become Slash, Cameron went on to study the HND Music Performance course at Riverside, followed by a BA(Hons) degree. That journey led him to pursue a career in music for film, something he never thought possible as a guitarist until Riverside showed him otherwise.

Now he gets to pass all of that on to his students, kids and adults alike, and by his own admission, it's a dream come true.

In lessons, Cameron focuses on making sure students enjoy the music they're learning, building confidence through guidance rather than just giving answers, and covering everything from technique to composition. His advice to any beginner? If rock gods make mistakes, so can you. 🎸

Our vocal coach Georgina is hosting a three day musical theatre intensive during the October break, and it's going to be absolutely brilliant. 🎤

A wee preview of Harry's drum lessons with our tutor, Aiden. 🥁
