Good afternoon,

Just a quick reminder of times for tomorrow's award ceremonies.

BGE (1st year, 2nd year, 3rd year) - 1030 tomorrow morning

Senior Phase (4th year & 5th year - 6th years have already left) - 1330 tomorrow afternoon

These will take place in the school, and as always we ask that you refrain from taking any photos or videos during the events; photos will be taken and shared by the school from the ceremony itself and an area will be set aside where you can take family photos after the ceremony.

Remember, you are all encouraged to join in with the Scottish dress theme!

SCOTLAND WORLD CUP CELEBRATION

You may not have noticed, but the men’s Scottish football team have managed to qualify for the World Cup for the first time since 1998.

To celebrate, as well as the special holiday Monday that Glasgow City Council have given us, we are going to have a celebration in school on Friday (the experienced Scotland fans amongst you will spot that this is before the first game even kicks off and as such before any chance of our optimism vanishing!)

Pupils are invited to dress as they please, with all forms of Scottishness particularly welcomed including Scotland football or rugby tops (current or retro), Scottish or World Cup themed t-shirts, tops or sweatshirts, anything tartan or even full Highland dress. Ashton school uniform also qualifies as Scottish, but the clue is in the name, you can wear whatever you please.

Family members attending the Award Ceremonies on Friday are also invited to join in with the dress theme.

As well as dress as you please, our PE teachers will also be offering all pupils the opportunity to engage in football games and stations in the PE Hall and Agnes will be having a ‘No Scotland No Party’ Party in the afternoon.

Parts of the school will be decorated with Scottish flags, and pupils will be given the chance to make a Scottish flag to take home on Friday to celebrate over the weekend. 🤞

There may also be a small Scottish treat for everyone on Friday!

As with last year - and after some great feedback - we will again be sending the annual school reports digitally on Seesaw.

This year we are slightly ahead of schedule and the reports are currently being finalised and should start going home this week; I will provide updates as we move forward.

Anyone not on Seesaw will be contacted separately once all the Seesaw reports are delivered to organise another method of delivery such as through email or Groupcall; these deliveries are likely to happen the week commencing 15th (16th!) June.

If you aren’t linked to Seesaw already but would like to be to ensure that you are able to benefit from early access through Seesaw, get in touch with Iain Hallahan at the school and he will make sure you’re all sorted out.

As we welcome a new month, we also have to say goodbye to our wonderful 6th Year Leavers - who enjoy this Monday as former pupils for the very first time.

Over the years they have grown into confident, capable young adults, and we have a special message directly for them:

Thank You for the mark you have made on our school. We are proud of the young people you have become and can’t wait to see where life takes you next. Enjoy this longer, ‘golden’ summer and we wish you every success in your future lives, studies and adventures!

Of course, we shouldn’t forget those of us who are still here!

To all our pupils and families, June is a reminder that every ending creates space for a new beginning. Each new month can inspire us to embrace challenges, celebrate progress and look forward to all that is still to come.

Keep working hard, supporting one another and believing in what you can achieve.

Let June bring happiness, growth and inspiration as we finish the 25/26 school year together and look forward to the summer and beyond.

🌻🏖️ 🌅 New month, new beginnings - endless possibilities! 🌄 🏖️🌻

As Eid al-Adha draws to a close and the time of Hajj comes to an end, we send our warmest wishes to all in our school community who have been marking this special time.

We hope this has been a joyful and meaningful period spent with family and friends, reflecting on the values of compassion, generosity and community.

Once more, we are proud to celebrate the rich diversity of cultures and traditions within our school that help make Ashton a special place.
