7th August 10am - 4pm - Juniors - for those going into S1/S2/S3 in August 2023.

Price - £50

8th 10am - 4pm and 9th 10am - 1pm(August) - Seniors - for those going into S4/S5/S6 in August 2023.

Price - £75

The places will be given on a first come first serve basis and are limited, please confirm as soon as you can to secure your place.

This is open to anyone, however, a minimum of intermediate foundation experience would be useful for the Juniors and Intermediate for the seniors.

There is great importance and long term benefits of including mindfulness in dance training. It is of my opinion that this will lead to confident, reflective, respectful of self and others and more productive dancers of tomorrow.

There is something very satisfying about this view at the end of each beginner adult ballet session on a Monday evening. After 55 minutes of barre and centre work we ease our muscles through a gentle stretch, winding down physically and mentally. A moment of achievement and wholeness, ready to embark upon the week ahead with a sense of equilibrium.

This term, in the 3-5 years class, we have introduced the exploration of demi pointe in a variety of fun and engaging ways. Here we are utilising small colourful hoops used like stepping stones to encourage co-ordination and dexterity, whilst also building strength in the ankles in a safe manner that is appropriate to this age group.

Finding new ways of enhancing the learning experience brings the element of fun and discovery to the dance studio.

- Tonight we have our second week of Adult Ballet Classes:
Class 1: 7-8pm
Class 2: 8-9pm

This week we’ll be consolidating what we achieved last week as well as continuing with our fundamentals.

An S.D.T.A syllabus ballet class for 3-5 years is available on a Saturday morning at the HQ and I have a private coaching service which is discussed upon request.

Thank you to all of you who joined me yesterday evening for our first two Adult Beginners Ballet Classes.

Everyone did incredibly well as we covered some of the fundamentals of classical ballet including posture, port de bras, petite allegro and stretching ✨

I am looking forward to our classes next Monday. There are a limited number of places available so please get in touch if you are interested.

Tomorrow (Monday) we begin our Adult Ballet Classes at the S.D.T.A HQ studios, in the West End of Glasgow. The Adult Ballet Classes will be taking place in the Upstairs Studio and as you can see, it is beautiful!

I am delighted to be delivering these classes which, alongside learning Classical Ballet, will involve the enjoyment of moving the body and starting the week mentally prepared and balanced.
Our first class is ‘Beginners Ballet’ running from 7-8pm and this class is now fully booked.
Our second class is also ‘Beginners Ballet’ running from 8-9pm and I still have some availability for this class.

Back in February I had the pleasure of leading a day of masterclasses at the Ballet Grand Prix
It was wonderful to be surrounded by the young peoples’ passion and enthusiasm for dance.

Instilling and building strong foundations of Classical Ballet technique will allow for a dancer to understand their body, in turn this will enable them to achieve their full potential as a dancer within any part of the dance industry. Whether a dancer wants to follow their passion into a full time career or enjoy dancing as a pastime, a strong foundation will allow full immersion in moving to music and being creative.
