We were delighted to work with the RCS Musical Theatre team and 130 secondary pupils on a jam packed two days of singing skills. Thanks to all staff who supported the event and schools for encouraging young people to attend. We hope to see lots of the pupils at our Thursday night choir!

🎶 Welcome back to a new year of music with Glasgow CREATE!

As the new school year gets underway, we’re looking forward to welcoming children and young people back to our City Music Groups – and meeting lots of new faces too!

Enrolment for 2026/27 is now open.

From string orchestras, concert bands, brass and percussion to choirs, guitar, traditional music, pipe bands, jazz and more, there are opportunities for young musicians at different ages and stages to make music together, develop their skills and perform.

📅 Groups return from the week beginning 31 August.

Whether you’re new to a CREATE group or returning this year, a parent or carer must complete the 2026/27 enrolment form.

⭐ CREATE Young Ambassadors ⭐

The first meeting of our brand new pupil leadership team was BRILLIANT! It was a pleasure to meet so many passionate and enthusiastic leaders and listen to their ideas about supporting and developing Arts opportunities in their schools.

We can’t wait to get together again in August and plan events for the new school year 💡 📅

🎶 What a fantastic day at our CREATE Primary Choir Festival! 🎶
Over 300 children from 10 Glasgow primary schools took to the Grand Hall stage at City Halls, performing for their peers in a celebration of music, confidence and community.
The day also included a mass singing workshop led by CREATE Music Instructors, before children joined members of Skipinnish to perform Alive and help launch this year’s CREATE Citywide Singing Project.
A huge congratulations to all the children and staff who took part and made the event such a success.

🎤 Love singing? We’re also excited to launch applications for CREATE Junior Choir 2026-27. Children who join will have the opportunity to perform at the CREATE Christmas Concert this December.

Thank you to Glasgow CREATE and all the wonderful primary school children of Glasgow for bringing our song “Alive”!!

We are delighted that some of the children will join us on stage at the The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall in December for a very special Glasgow Christmas performance of the song.

This year, Glasgow CREATE asked every primary school in the city to take part in our annual YMI citywide singing project — and the response was incredible.
328 video submissions. 114 schools. One city. One song.
Every single submission features in this film. From school halls to classrooms, from P1 to P7 — this is Glasgow’s primary schools singing together as one.
A huge thank you to every pupil who learned the song, every teacher who made it happen in their classroom, and every YMI tutor who supported schools throughout the project.
A special thank you also to Angus MacPhail and Andrew Stevenson of Skipinnish for kindly giving permission to use “Alive / Tha Thu Beò” and for joining us at the CREATE Primary Choir Festival at City Halls this week, where more than 300 children got to sing the song live alongside members of the band.
