Welcome Back to Ivy Kindergarten!

Dear Families,

A very warm welcome back to all of our wonderful children and families as we begin another exciting term at Ivy Kindergarten!

We hope you have all enjoyed a happy, restful break and are ready for a new term filled with fun, learning, discovery, and new friendships. We are looking forward to welcoming both familiar and new faces and can't wait to hear about everyone's adventures over the holidays.

A new term brings new beginnings, and we are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead. As we continue to grow as a nursery community, we want to work closely with our families to shape the future of Ivy Kindergarten. Over the coming months, we will be inviting you to help us develop our shared vision, values and aims, ensuring they reflect what matters most to our children, families and staff. We will also be working together to create a yearly celebration calendar that recognises and celebrates the diverse cultures, traditions, and experiences within our nursery community. We believe that by embracing diversity and learning from one another, we can create an environment where every child and family feels welcomed, valued, respected, and included.

Our team has been busy preparing engaging activities and experiences that will encourage every child to explore, grow, and develop in a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment.

As we begin this new term, we would like to thank you for your continued support. We know that children thrive when there is a strong partnership between home and nursery. By working together, sharing information, celebrating achievements, and communicating openly, we can provide the consistency, encouragement, and care that helps every child feel secure, confident, and ready to learn. Your involvement plays a vital role in your child's learning journey, and we truly value the strong relationships we share with our families.

We are also delighted to share some exciting team news. Please join us in giving a warm welcome to our newest members of the Ivy Kindergarten team:

Carrie, our new Nursery Manager. We are delighted to welcome Carrie to Ivy Kindergarten and look forward to the experience, enthusiasm, and leadership she brings to our nursery community.
Chloe Dorran, who joins us as our Modern Apprentice. We are excited to support Chloe as she begins her career in Early Learning and Childcare and becomes part of our nursery family.
We would also like to congratulate Kirin on successfully completing her SVQ Level 3 qualification in Early Learning and Childcare. This is a fantastic achievement and reflects her dedication and commitment to providing high-quality care and learning experiences for our children. We are incredibly proud of her accomplishment.

As we welcome new faces, we also say a fond farewell to Isla as she moves on from her role as Nursery Manager. We would like to express our sincere thanks to Isla for her dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment to Ivy Kindergarten. Her care, leadership, and support have made a lasting impact on our children, families, and staff, and we are truly grateful for everything she has contributed. We wish Isla every success and happiness in the future.

We are excited to create many wonderful memories together this term and look forward to supporting your child's learning and development every step of the way.

We’re opening our doors this Saturday from 10:00am – 2:00pm and would love to welcome our wonderful Ivy families, friends, and new faces for our Open Day!

If you’re passing by, why not pop in and say hello? 👋💚 It’s a lovely chance to have a wander around our beautiful nursery, see our spaces, and enjoy the warm and welcoming environment we’ve created for our children.

💜 An Inspiration to Us All! 💜

We are incredibly proud to share that Susan Govan, one of the Directors of our family of nurseries, is taking on an amazing challenge to raise funds for CHAS, Children's Hospices Across Scotland.

On 19th July, Susan will be skydiving from an aeroplane in support of this wonderful charity, helping to make a difference to the lives of children and families who need it most.

At 73 years young, Susan continues to inspire us all with her energy, sense of adventure, and unwavering commitment to children. Anyone who knows Susan knows that she always puts the needs of children at the heart of every decision she makes, and this incredible challenge is no exception.

Her passion, kindness, and nurturing spirit have touched the lives of so many children, families, and colleagues over the years. She reminds us all that age is no barrier when your heart is full of purpose and determination.

Susan, we are all behind you and wish you every success as you take this incredible leap! We know you'll soar just as you have throughout your life—leading with compassion, courage, and an endless dedication to giving children the very best.

Clothing Grant for School Children.

You may be entitled to a clothing grant if your child attends a school in Glasgow and you receive qualifying benefits.

For the 2026/27 school year, eligible families can receive:
• £120 for each child attending primary school
• £150 for each child attending secondary school

Today, we’re celebrating all the special people who love, support, encourage and make a difference in our children's lives. 💙

Whether you're a dad, stepdad, grandad, uncle, foster carer, older sibling, mum taking on both roles, or another special person who shows up with kindness, laughter and endless support, today is for you.

We know that every family is unique, and we recognise that Father's Day can bring a mix of emotions for some children and families. Whatever today looks like for you, we’re sending love and appreciation to all those who help our little ones feel safe, valued and loved.

Pretty Muddy 2026 🎀💗

We did it! 🎉

Our team completed Pretty Muddy, and I’m so proud of what we achieved together.

We’re a close team, and that definitely showed throughout this fun challenge. Everyone got stuck in, supported each other, and had a laugh along the way, which made it all the more enjoyable.

Thanks to your incredible support and generosity, we raised a whopping £1,400, plus an additional £248.75 in Gift Aid for a fantastic cause.

Thank you to everyone who donated, supported us, and cheered us on. We really appreciate every contribution, and it’s amazing to know we’ve helped raise so much for such a great cause. ❤️

Simoa the Safety Elephant 💜🐘

This morning Simoa our Safety Elephant spent her time looking around the environment, doing the very important safety checks before the children arrived ready to learn, play and explore.

The children have been learning that when they see a purple elephant it's to keep us safe!
