It’s been a little while since our last post on social media. As many of you already know, there was a fire at Pollokshaws Parish Church, where we were previously based, on the 7th of December 2025.
Our main takeaway from that night is that the fire happened when no one was in the building and, thankfully, no one was injured. Our hearts go out to the parishioners of the church who have lost a place so close to their hearts. The halls were also home to several other groups that play an important part in our community.
The children and families who attend PASS have had to make do over the past 11 weeks, and we are grateful to all our parents for their continued support and kind messages during this time. We know it hasn’t been easy for some families.
We would also like to say a huge thank you to Eastwood Parish Church, which is now our new home. On the morning after the fire, they reached out to us and offered a great space for us to move into. Without this kindness, I’m not sure the service would be running again.
I’d also like to thank my fellow school-aged childcare managers who have been such a great support during this challenging period. Many have offered advice and resources if needed, and that has meant so much to me.
As we get ready to start again tomorrow, we are incredibly grateful that all of our resources survived without any damage — which is amazing considering the church building itself is now completely gone. We will always hold on to our happy memories, but now it’s time to move forward together and make new ones.
As the easier part of this journey draws to a close, our focus is now on the children and helping them settle into our new home.
We are really looking forward to seeing everyone very soon ❤️
The children’s smiles and happiness remain at the heart of everything we do.
