Hello, I am a BCBA/ABA Consultant in Scotland working with children with autism and other additional support needs. I have over 12 years of experience in the field of ABA which include working in an ABA Clinic in Canada and an ABA School in London. I am now offering Early Intensive Behavioural Intervention (EIBI) support for families in East Ayrshire and the Glasgow surrounding area.

✨This picture is more than a learner’s love for animals and the artistic journey I’ve embarked on 😆 ✨
🟢 In the last few month I’ve been teaching this learner to label features on items and as a result:
✅ He can receptively find various features on items
✅ He can label various features on items
✳️ But most importantly he can ask and communicate for things he wants!
✳️ For example, he can ask for adults to draw spots on the giraffe and stripes on the tiger. He can ask for a tail, legs, body, nose, eyes and mouth to be drawn. Most recently he’s enjoyed everything drawn on a sheep then me saying, “Oh no! What’s missing?!” He’ll giggle and say, “ears!”

The Premack Principle aka Grandma’s Law. As Grandma always says and Grandma knows best, “First eat your broccoli 🥦 then dessert 🧁!” In my case, first admin work then go for a walk! 🤭 This is great when you want a learner to engage in a certain behaviour and the behaviour functions as a reinforcer
