Yoga classes are back in Pollokshields Burgh Hall next week, on the edge of Maxwell Park.
I’m adding in a deliciously restful Restorative class on the last Sunday of every month. Not to be missed!
Here are all the details and class descriptions. So looking forward to seeing old and new students on the mat 😊🕺🏻
• Friday Slow Flow: 9.30am - 10.30am 🍃
Revive and reset for the weekend with this softly flowing yoga class. Transitioning from gentle breath work to a more traditional Vinyasa practice, poses are explored slowly and from many angles when required. Class warming might touch on some functional mobility and/or core work, while class closing draws things to a meditative focus, with downward regulation of the nervous system and Savasana (relaxation). New themes or peak poses are explored roughly every month, with subtle changes and varied transitions week to week. Leave feeling freer in mind and body from the pent up stresses and tensions life inevitably brings.
Class is playful and fun, and is suitable for beginners who can take themselves easily on and off the floor. All genders are welcome!
Sunday Restorative: last Sunday of the month, 4pm - 5pm 🍁
A soothing, restful practice using ample props to support the body, while gently moving the spine through its five available directions. The sequence is very slow, prompting muscular relaxation, and allowing the nervous system to shift into a parasympathetic state that supports rest, relaxation and digestion. Breathing is similarly affected, usually becoming slower, fuller and more soft. You will be guided through a nature-themed meditation while you adopt these grounding asanas, enhancing your capacity to enter Alpha and Theta mind-states (relaxed and imaginative!).
Suitable for all bodies and genders.
Equipment:
Students should bring yoga mats for all classes. Restorative requires an additional two blankets, and a yoga bolster or two pillows (as full and stable as possible!).
So looking forward to sharing this with you 🌊🏔️
