ποΈ New episode out now
What if the biggest barrier to a career isn't ability, but simply not seeing someone like you doing it?
In the latest episode of 'Your Ideal Path', Elaine is joined by Graham Hambly, Publisher and Editor of PQ Magazine, to discuss social mobility, opportunity and four decades at the heart of the accountancy profession.
From his own working-class background to his unique perspective on education, qualifications and career development, Graham shares stories and insights gathered from a lifetime spent listening to students, employers, training providers and professional bodies.
It's a fascinating conversation about how the profession has changed, the opportunities it creates, and why representation matters.
Because sometimes the most important thing is knowing what's possible.

A good tutor explains the subject.
A great tutor helps you understand how it works in the real world.
When you're studying bookkeeping, payroll or taxation, having access to experienced tutors and dedicated support can help turn theory into something far more meaningful.
In our latest blog, we explore why practical insight, professional experience and personalised support can make such a difference to a student's confidence, understanding and long-term success.

Redundancy wasn't part of David's plan.
Neither was running his own bookkeeping business.
Yet today, David has built a flexible portfolio career that combines subcontract work, self-employment and ongoing professional development.
Some people assume bookkeeping and accounting qualifications are primarily for those starting out in their careers. David's experience shows they can also be valuable for people looking to retrain, adapt and create new opportunities later in life.

Sometimes we assume that because something is familiar, it's the right place to stay.
But growth often begins when we allow ourselves to imagine what else might be possible.
Whether that's learning a new skill, gaining a qualification or taking a step towards a different future, small decisions can open doors we never expected.
Have a great week.

Whether you're watching from the stadium, the pub, or (for entirely budget-related reasons) your own sofa, we hope you enjoy the start of the World Cup β½
And we reckon learning a new skill from home is looking like excellent value by comparisonπ
Have a great weekend, whatever you're watching.

How do you know if a training provider is keeping up with the profession it teaches?
Bookkeeping and accounting don't stand still. Regulations change, technology evolves and client expectations shift.
That's why staying connected matters.
At Ideal Schools, we believe students benefit when their training provider remains actively engaged with qualification bodies, industry developments, practising professionals and the wider bookkeeping community.
Because staying connected helps keep learning relevant, practical and up to date.
In our latest blog, we explore why professional connections can make a real difference to the learning experience and the confidence students build along the way.

We should probably have been talking about this sooner... but better late than never. π
Every year, AAT Approved Providers receive information showing how their students' computer-based assessment (CBA) pass rates compare with the worldwide average.
Looking at all AQ2022 standard CBAs completed by Ideal Schools students between 1 January and 31 December 2025, we're proud to see our pass rates sitting above the worldwide average across all four AAT levels.
While pass rates are only one measure of success, we believe they reflect something that's always been important to us: giving students the support, guidance and encouragement they need to progress with confidence.
Thank you to every student who studied with us during 2025. These results belong to you!
(Pass rates shown relate to computer-based assessments (CBAs) completed between 1 January and 31 December 2025 on AQ2022 standards. They do not represent achievement rates for the overall qualification.)
