🎨 As part of Arts Week, Gretton learners have been getting creative with spray paints!

During a spray paint workshop, they’ve been learning how to use different spray paint techniques, experimenting with colours and designs, and creating some fantastic pieces of artwork along the way.

Some learners have created their names, others have designed self-portraits with colourful spray paint hair, while others have brought characters and animals to life through their artwork.

As the end of term draws closer, there have been lots of special moments for our learners to look back on and celebrate together 💙

These photos capture a very special day as our learners celebrated Prom together. After a quick photoshoot at Gretton, they headed to Revs in Cambridge for food, cake, certificate celebrations and the chance to spend time together, reflecting on everything they have achieved.

It was a lovely way to mark the end of an important chapter and we are so proud of each and every one of them!

Make sure to check out today’s fortnightly parent newsletter too, where we’ll be sharing even more wonderful moments captured over the past few weeks 📸

🌈✨ We had the most wonderful time celebrating Pride at our Rectory site!

Our learners did a fantastic job creating a range of handmade crafts to sell. In the lead-up to the event, our Crochet Club and Craft Club worked together to make a wonderful collection of items, including colourful marble mesh fidgets, crochet mazes, and beautiful handmade worry stones. These quiet fidgets are perfect for use in the classroom and showcased the creativity and teamwork of our learners.

On the day, learners from both sites came together and enjoyed taking part in a range of outdoor activities, including sports, crafts, spending time with friends, helping to serve at our food stalls and relaxing together with a delicious ice cream treat! 🍦

At Gretton, we believe every learner should feel proud of who they are, and events like this are a wonderful reminder that our differences are what make our community so special.

Check out what they got up to below! 👇✨

☀️ Sherlock’s hot weather advice is in… and he’s taking it very seriously! 🐾

With the warm weather set to continue, Sherlock (and Staff at Gretton) would love everyone to follow in his pawsteps and be prepared for the sunshine as much as possible.

To help learners stay comfortable and safe in the heat, please send them in with:
💧 A refillable water bottle (plastic bottles only, please)
🧢 A hat (for use during outdoor activities)
🧴 Sun cream (pre-applied, or a named bottle into school)

As we will be making use of the sprinkler systems at certain times during the day, please feel free to send your child into school with a named change of clothes if they would like the option to enjoy the sprinklers and change afterwards.

💬 Got questions about staying safe? We did.

As part of our ongoing commitment to safeguarding, personal safety, and helping young people make informed choices, we were recently offered the opportunity for Policing South Cambridgeshire Team to deliver a Knife Crime Awareness Assembly to our learners. 🚓

The session sparked lots of great discussion, and we definitely challenged them with plenty of challenging questions too - especially one learner who came in with a prepared list of questions to ask! 📝

A huge thank you to the team for delivering such an informative and engaging session to help our young people stay safe, informed, and empowered.

🏕️ Blue skies, walking boots, campfires and marshmallows...Our Duke of Edinburgh expedition had it all!

Learners pitched their own tents, cooked their own meals, explored the countryside (with a few strategic sitting stops! 😄), and spent the evening roasting marshmallows around the campfire.

The is all about stepping outside your comfort zone, learning new skills, discovering just how much you're capable of and making friendships that last well beyond the expedition. We'd say this expedition was a pretty great example of that. 👏
