When it all starts to come together….

It's no secret that childcare settings often struggle with chronic underfunding from the Government including ours. After the huge investment in the building and garden last summer we decided to try something new this year. We set ourselves the challenge of transforming our gardens using just items from our loft or resources from the scrap store, or market place all while keeping expenses very low. Over the past week, our family have joined in to help tidy up the garden, and it's really coming together beautifully. Here’s a sneak peek at one area that is nearly finished! The rest is yet to come ready for September ✨

Little Gems is on holiday!

My children, husband and I couldn’t resist partaking in a bit of heuristic play using natures finest loose parts! 🪨 🐚 🌊 🪣 🪏

Sand play has so many learning opportunities, it helps children develop motor skills, encourages problem-solving, and builds social skills through sensory exploration.

We are the busiest we’ve ever been and we need another lovely staff member.

Are you the person we are looking for? This is a very rare opportunity to lead a small, warm friendly room. Little Gems is a family run, established nursery with a fantastic reputation.

The position would be term time only, working around 30 hours per week. You must be able to start at 8am and finish at 4pm.

You’ll need at least an approved level 3 qualification (equivalent to A levels) and 2 years experience of working with young children.

We are an independently run nursery. You will be working with children aged 3 months to 5 years.

You will need to be reliable, adaptable, warm and friendly!

The role will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, and at least two satisfactory references in line with our safer recruitment policy.

So we are looking for Early Years Bank Staff to help cover staff absences. This role is term-time only. As part of our warm and friendly nursery, you’ll be working with our lovely little ones aged from 3 months to 5 years. You'll support the rooms you’re assigned to by working with our dedicated nursery staff, helping to set up and tidy the space, playing with the children, and ensuring their environment is safe and welcoming. No paperwork is needed from you, which makes this a fantastic opportunity to boost your confidence and learn on the job! We ideally prefer level 2 or level 3 qualified early years practitioners, but we also welcome applications from unqualified nursery assistants who've got relevant experience that can be referenced. Being reliable, adaptable, and full of warmth is key! For this role, you will need to pass a DBS check and provide at least two satisfactory references. We offer full flexibility, allowing you to pick and choose your shifts, plus accrue holiday allowance. Pay day is the last working day of each month.
