Inspiring the next generation of STEM talent!

We were delighted to welcome Phil Doyle, Senior Engineering Manager, to speak with students about his journey into technology and the many pathways available to them.

Phil shared an honest and engaging look at careers in tech, from apprenticeships and university to the wide range of roles and career routes available within engineering, software, cloud, data and security.

A key message was that all subjects can help develop problem-solving skills, and that curiosity, embracing opportunities and being willing to learn are vital in a rapidly changing world. As Phil reminded students, “In tech it’s not what you know, it’s what you don’t know.”

Thank you, Phil, for sharing your experience, encouraging questions and helping our students think about the opportunities ahead.

Yesterday our A Level Business students put their detective skills to the test! 🔎

Working in groups, students were given a seasonal product that was kept secret from the rest of the class. Their mission?

Create 3 clues about the product
Challenge the rest of the class to GUESS the product
Then tackle the BIG business question:

💡How does a business survive when demand for its product is highly seasonal?

From predicting changes in demand, to thinking about pricing, stock, marketing and how businesses manage those quieter periods, students had to think like real business managers!

Whether demand peaks at Christmas, in summer, during the back-to-school season or around a special event, seasonality can have a huge impact on a business 🎄☀️⛷️

As a final reflection on the workshops our sixth form students experienced with Chris, James, Zoe and Errol during Unguarded Method Day last week, we wanted to share some of the amazing feedback we’ve received directly from our students!

We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to provide our students with such a valuable and inspiring experience. It’s wonderful to see just how much they have taken away from the day, from developing new skills and building confidence to gaining knowledge that they can carry with them into their future lives and careers.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in making the day so memorable and impactful for our students! 🧡
