It’s an emotional day here today, as we say goodbye to our biggest pickles who are moving on to their next nursery adventures!
Two of whom were my very first children back when I opened January 2024! 🤯

We’ve celebrated in style, having a party and a special lunch.

As ever, it’s been such a privilege being chosen to look after your little ones and they become part of our family 🤍 I will miss them all so much! 🫶🏻

Early morning walk 🤩

We left bright and early this morning while it was cooler, taking our snack with us and having a lovely shady picnic under the trees.
Afterwards we (of course!) had to go on a stick hunt - what more do boys want- food and sticks?! We found some huge sticks and made music by banging them against the trees!

Lovely visit to the local farm for an hours play this morning 🥰 So lucky to have this right on our doorstep!

🚊 Trip to Salisbury 🤩

We went on a big adventure today with First Roots Childcare!
We headed off on the train first thing to Salisbury, enjoying our snack as we watched out the window.
We ventured over to Elizabeth Gardens where we paddled our feet and tried skipping stones. After we found a lovely shady spot for some singing and games followed by a McDonalds treat for lunch 😋 safe to say it went down very well for all!!
We headed back to the train station afterwards and came home again. Some very tired out little pickles (and adults!!) but what a great adventure out 🤩

Syllables 🤩

This morning the bigger pickles worked on their language and literacy skills.
We looked at some bigger words, which we were able to break down into smaller words! We had to match the small pictures together to make the bigger word.
To do this we clapped out the syllables in the bigger words, breaking them down to the smaller words. This helps develops phonological awareness in early literacy skills.

Perfect way to end the week, spending a sunny (and not too hot!) morning at Madjeston Milk Station with the big pickles....

Perfect way to end the week, spending a sunny (and not too hot!) morning at Madjeston Milk Station with the big pickles.
Everyone loved visiting and saying hello to all the animals, doing lots of running, climbing and sliding!
I think our favourite part of the visit is definitely the guinea pigs, it’s always been a firm favourite for these guys and they love to sitting next to the enclosure and saying hello (and feeding them grass 🤣)

Yesterday our oldest pickles had a practice with some speech sounds, they would choose a picture and we would then clap out the words and breaking them up (rain - bow) (sock) (rain - coat) we then had to show how many claps we used.
This promotes clearer speech skills by breaking down words especially those bigger and trickier words. This is something that can be used for early reading too when looking at bigger words, breaking them down into smaller words and then merging the word.

We started the week with a little Costa treat for snack time, followed by a trip to the library to read some books and a visit to the small museum 📕

We’ve ended the week with a walk allowing the littlest of our pickles to venture around and stretch their legs exploring nature 🌺 although there may have been lots of encouragement NOT to eat the flowers 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️

🌷Stourhead Gardens 🤩

Yesterday we visited Stourhead gardens and had such a lovely morning.
We explored the play area, climbing up the rope ladder and having races down the slide.
We then walked over to the courtyard area where we practiced our balancing on the beams, had an egg and spoon race and enjoyed a picnic snack on the haybales.
Lots of different gross motor skills used throughout the day!
We will definitely be visiting more now the weather is nicer ☀️
