For our first event of this academic year, we are delighted to let you know that we will be holding our Autumn Disco on Thursday 15th October! Pupils are invited to wear fancy dress or party wear. Year 1, 2 and 3 will be given time to change but will need to be responsible for their own items.

Year 4, 5 and 6 will be held at 5pm - 6pm

All pupils will have to be collected from the disco once it has finished, no pupils will be allowed to walk home. Tickets are ยฃ5 each which includes a drink, crisps and a biscuit.

Tickets are to be purchased via the Arbor app in the 'Trip' section and a limited number is available.

Please ensure tickets are purchased by 12pm on Wednesday 14th October to avoid disappointment.
We will also have a Tuck Shop available where extra sweets and drinks will be sold. Pupils should bring money for the tuck shop in a named purse or envelope.

Good afternoon Saxon Way!

The Harvest Festival is nearly upon us and we are in great need of donations from our parents. Please bring your donations into class or hand them to a member of staff by the morning of THURSDAY 8TH OCTOBER.
We had a great turn out last year but we are hoping to donate even more this year!

We are looking for the following -

๐Ÿ“ŒTinned Goods: Vegetables, fruit, meat, and fish are always needed.
๐Ÿ“Œ Dry Goods: Pasta, rice, cereal, and noodles are good non-perishable staples.
๐Ÿ“Œ Long-Life Products: UHT milk, fruit juice, and powdered milk.
๐Ÿ“Œ Spreads and Sauces: Jam, honey and pasta sauce are useful additions.
๐Ÿ“Œ Sweet Treats: Biscuits and tinned puddings are often requested.
๐Ÿ“Œ Hot Beverages: Tea, coffee, and hot chocolate are popular items.
๐Ÿ“Œ Toiletries: Products like baby shampoo, shower gel, and other personal care items are appreciated.
๐Ÿ“Œ Household Goods: Washing-up liquid, washing powder, and other cleaning supplies help keep households running.

โ—Unfortunately, we cannot accept fresh fruit and vegetables as they tend to perish before we are able to donate them!

We are excited to be taking part in Medwayโ€™s Little Trekkers Challenge from Monday 12th to Friday 16th October, as part of International Walk to School Month.

As a school, we already take part in the WOW Travel Tracker programme, where children record how they travel to school each day. During Little Trekkers Week, our usual active journeys will count towards a special Medway-wide challenge.

Children can help by walking, wheeling, cycling, scooting or using Park & Stride (parking further away and walking the last 5 minutes).

Schools across Medway will be competing to achieve the highest number of active travel journeys. The winning primary school will receive a ยฃ300 Halfords voucher, with a ยฃ100 Halfords voucher for the most improved school.

Letโ€™s keep up our fantastic active travel and see if Saxon Way can reach the top!

๐Ÿ’š What a wonderful celebration of 60 years of our school! ๐Ÿ’š

We had such a fantastic time welcoming past pupils, families, former staff and friends back to Saxon Way for our 60th anniversary.

It was especially special to meet people from the very opening of Hillyfields Junior School and hear their wonderful memories and untold stories of their time here. ๐Ÿ“–โœจ

We were so touched to hear how much former pupils loved their time at the school, and to receive such lovely feedback about the memories and experiences they took away with them.

A school is so much more than its buildings - it is the people, friendships, memories and stories that create its history and legacy.

Thank you to everyone who came, shared a memory and helped make our celebration so special.

60 years of memories. 60 years of community. 60 years of stories. ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŒฟ
