✨🏫 OUR SIXTH FORM HAS HAD A GLOW-UP! 🏫✨

We’ve been VERY busy over the Summer Break… 👀🔨🪚

Our Sixth Form has undergone an extensive facelift ready to welcome students back next week! 🙌🎓

📚 Brand-new dedicated study areas
🥪 A completely new Sixth Form canteen space
💻 New ELC spaces
🛋️ More modern, purposeful spaces for students to study, work and spend time together
✨ A fresh new environment designed specifically for our Sixth Form community

🏃‍♂️💨 ANOTHER HUGE ACHIEVEMENT! 💨🏃‍♂️

We absolutely LOVE hearing what our students have been achieving outside of school — and this is another fantastic one! 💙💛💚❤️🧡

👏 A massive congratulations to HH, who was selected to represent KENT in the Long Jump at the Inter-Counties Track & Field competition! 🏆🌟

And what makes this even more impressive? 👀

🔥 HH was a FIRST-YEAR athlete
🔥 He was one of the youngest competitors there
🔥 He was competing against older athletes
🔥 The field even included the No.1 ranked athlete in the UK! 🇬🇧🤯

But that didn't stop him! 💪

HH produced a brilliant jump of 4.92m 🦘💨, finishing 16th out of 24 athletes overall and gaining some incredible experience competing at this level! 👏👏👏

To even be SELECTED to represent your county as a first-year athlete is a phenomenal achievement — and we couldn't be prouder! 🥹🏅

And there was more success too…

🏆 KENT FINISHED 4TH OVERALL! 🏆

What an experience. What an achievement. And hopefully just the beginning! 🚀📈

This is exactly why we love hearing from our families about what our students get up to beyond the school gates. Whether it's sport 🏃‍♂️, music 🎵, performing arts 🎭 or something completely different — SEND IT TO US! 📸📩

Back to school is just around the corner...

Before the new term starts, take 2–3 minutes to check if your child is eligible for Free School Meals. You will need to supply your National Insurance number as part of your checks.

Recent changes to the eligibility criteria mean more children may now qualify.
If your child is eligible, they could receive:
• A free school meal every day
• A free breakfast
• Saving you around £500 a year on school meals

Every successful application also brings an extra £505.40 to our school, helping us invest in further opportunities and support for all pupils.

Yesterday we celebrated the BEST GCSE results in The Howard School’s history. 🏆💙

But why do the numbers matter?

Because behind every grade is an OPPORTUNITY. 🚪🚀

This year, Howard students achieved an incredible…

🌟 300 GRADE 7–9 RESULTS 🌟

And of those…

🏆 30 were GRADE 9s – the highest GCSE grade possible! 🤯🔥

That means 10% of our highest grades were at the very highest level. 👏

We're enormously proud of that achievement – but the numbers aren't the end goal.

That sounds like a pretty special TREBLE to us! 🏆🏆🏆🙌

Today, we are absolutely DELIGHTED to announce that our Class of 2026 have achieved the highest overall GCSE attainment in The Howard School’s history! 🚀📚🎉

And yes… that means they’ve beaten LAST YEAR’S record-breaking results! 🤯👏

Last year, The Howard School was the 2nd highest-performing non-selective school in Kent & Medway for boys’ education. 🥈📊

So there's one rather exciting question…

👀 HAVE WE DONE ENOUGH TO TAKE THE TOP SPOT THIS YEAR?! 👀🥇

🏃‍♂️‍♂️🌍 FROM THE HOWARD SCHOOL TO THE WORLD STAGE! 🌍🏃‍♂️

💙 We LOVE hearing from our parents and carers about the incredible things our students achieve outside of school – and this one absolutely blew us away! 🤯👏🔥

Over the summer, LC has been representing GREAT BRITAIN! 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

First stop… Rieti, Italy for the U18 European Championships, where LC represented GB in the 400m.

🔥 New PB
🔥 Qualified for the European FINAL
🔥 Finished an incredible 7th in Europe! 🌍🏆

But it didn't stop there… 😮

✈️ On the SAME NIGHT he returned from Italy, LC discovered he'd been selected for the U20 World Championships in Oregon, USA, as part of the GB Mixed 4x400m Relay Team! 🏃‍♂️

And remember… LC is still U18! 🤯 He was one of just FIVE U18 athletes selected! 👏👏👏

At the World Championships, the team:

🥇 Won their heat
⚡ Qualified with the 3rd fastest time
🏆 Finished 5th IN THE WORLD
Set a new BRITISH RECORD! 🔥🙌

WOW. JUST WOW. 🤩🤩🤩

But we're equally proud of what happens away from the spotlight. 💙 LC's family told us about the focus, determination, hard work and sacrifices he has made to compete at this level. 💪🎯

And, in typical LC fashion, he's apparently far too modest to tell everyone himself… so we'll happily do it for him! 😂🙌

While many of us have been enjoying a well-earned summer break ☀️😎, some of our Howard students have been spending their summer doing something truly extraordinary…

They’re in KENYA with Camps International! 🤯✈️🌍

And this adventure didn’t just happen overnight. For more than a YEAR, the boys have been fundraising 💰, preparing 💪 and working towards the opportunity to make this incredible journey happen.

Now they’re there – and WOW, what an experience! 😍🔥

🏠 Building traditional mud houses
🎨 Painting and improving schools
🌊 Carrying out marine conservation work
🤝 Supporting local communities
🔥 Learning bush skills
🇰🇪 Meeting members of the Maasai community and learning about their culture
🌍 Experiencing life completely outside their everyday world
