Was really sad to do the funeral service for my lovely friend Amanda, who died on 5th January, after a terrible battle with pancreatic cancer and sepsis.
The lovely crematorium in Durham was full of people paying their regards to Amanda, and showing their support for her husband, son and family.
I love all my services but funerals are a particular privilege, marking the end of a person's time on earth and helping all those who mourn to say their goodbyes. In this case, it was a non-religious service, but as with all my work, I'm happy to make it a custom written ceremony, including as much or as little religion as suits you and your family.

Interesting day yesterday - arranging to conduct a funeral in South Shields with a lady living out in Cumbria... we will only meet in person at teatime the day before the funeral.
She seems a lovely woman and her deceased husband sounds amazing.
So happy to be able to help this family say their goodbyes.
