As most of our students and parents are aware Gateshead Council made the decision to close Gateshead Leisure centre this month. We have trained at the leisure centre since our club opened in September 2014.
▪️Gateshead Active is a group of individuals from the community who are giving up their time to aid in the development of a financially viable business plan and to take on Gateshead Leisure centre as a Community Asset Transfer (CAT).
An unbelievable amount of time and effort has went into the Asset Transfer so far. We are aiming to take the transfer to the September Cabinet meeting for approval. We however are running out of working funds to do the work that is required to get to the point of drawing the big loan and grant funds down which come after the lease is agreed at a cabinet meeting.
Times are hard and we know not everyone is in a position where it is possible to donate. However if you can please consider doing so. We are likely able to get a lot of this funding match funded, and not only will it help us get over the line, the more money for marketing and basic building improvement the better.
A building of this size and scale is always a tough task to run, we believe it is possible, our business plan is strong, please help us achieve our goals. Even if you can’t donate yourself please consider giving the post a like and share, all help is appreciated
Reopen Gateshead Leisure Centre Gateshead Leisure Centre closed on 21st July 2023, we have plans to reopen it on 1st November, we need your support to achieve this!
