We've just added two new vacancies to our website:

✅ Advice & Information Worker (part-time or casual)
✅ Community Link Worker (37 hours per week)

Both roles involve supporting older people to access advice, improve wellbeing, reduce isolation, and connect with services and opportunities in their communities. Applications for both roles close on 13 June 2026 at 10pm.

For , we’ll be highlighting some of the important work we've done with LGBT groups across the North East in the last few years.

We previously worked on a series of TikToks with Gateshead Youth Council, exploring important issues facing young people, particularly LGBT youth, such as mental health, body shaming, sexuality and gender.

Join us on Friday 12th June 10.30 - 12 at Bullion Hall Chester le Street for the launch of the Chester-le-Stories Podcast. The event is open to the whole community and will feature a screening of the youth-created animation, excerpts from the ‘Chester-le-Stories’ podcast series, and displays of photographs, archive materials, and community contributions.

For Pride Month, we’ll be highlighting some of the important work we've done with LGBT groups across the North East in the last few years.

Akt is a charity that aims to help LGBTQIA+ young people who are homeless or living in a hostile environment. We worked with a group of young LGBT people to co-produce a film about the importance of the work that akt do.

We’re so grateful to hear such positive feedback from this participant in our beginners digital skills course at St Martin's Centre in Byker. A huge thank you to the North East Mayoral Strategic Authority for recognising the work Digital Voice has been carrying out to help tackle digital exclusion. This course was delivered thanks to support from The Mayor’s Opportunity Fund.

Gateshead Council’s Active Travel team work with people in recovery to improve their wellbeing and help them take the first steps towards a more active lifestyle. We were fortunate to be able to work with a group of their participants to tell their stories of how Active Travel has changed their day-to-day lives.

For this week, we’re looking back at a piece from the DV archives. In collaboration with The Weardale Museum, we created a series of films showcasing important historical artefacts from Weardale’s history.

These Stone Axe Heads were used 7,000 years ago to clear the land of trees.
