You're not lazy, you're exhausted! The life of a parent isn't easy. You've got work, looking after the kids and managing the house and that's a lot to balance. Trying to fit workouts in on top of that can be a challenge.
When you open social media you'll see videos telling you that you must fit certain exercises into your routine or that you must workout 5 times per week for the best results. Unless you are trying to compete in bodybuilding, stop worrying about perfecton and instead - make sure that your workout routine is sustainable for you. If that's only 2 workouts per week then it's better than none!

Don't throw the towel in because you've had one bad meal! 1 missed workout or 1 bad weekend won't ruin your progress if you just get straight back on plan. Accept it and move on, you can't change it now. Don't try and compensate either by dropping calories lower for a few days. Just get back to your normal plan and you'll be back on track in no time.

Stop waiting for the perfect time to lose weight or you'll be waiting forever. There will always be another special occasion or holiday or busy period so don't delay weight loss just because of that. The reality is - if you delay starting your weight loss journey every time one of these situations arise, you will never lose weight.
Just get started now with 1 small action today. It might be completing your first workout, going for a walk or tracking your calorie intake for the first time.

Fat loss gets easier when you stop relying on willpower. Most people think successful weight loss comes from motivation but in reality, it usually comes from systems.
Things like:
• having high protein foods in the house
• planning meals ahead
• knowing your calorie target
• having gym sessions scheduled
• keeping easy healthy options available
• tracking daily habits
• and of course the most important element, tracking your calorie intake
The more decisions you remove, the easier consistency becomes. You don’t rise to the level of motivation, you fall to the level of your systems.

I used to think losing weight meant cutting out all the foods I enjoyed, doing endless cardio and starting again every Monday after another “bad weekend.”
The photo on the left was me a few years ago.
Tired, uncomfortable in my own skin and stuck in the cycle of losing weight - then putting it all back on again.
The photo on the right was taken recently during a photoshoot.
The biggest difference wasn’t some magic diet.
It was finally learning how to lose weight in a way I could actually stick to. And of course the lighting and having a bit of a tan helped too 😂
Now I help other busy adults do the same.
I currently have 2 spaces available for in person coaching at Dunston Activity Centre Gym on weekday evenings. I also have 2 online spaces available for anyone who is already confident in a gym setting.

I've experienced the guilt myself. When you are a parent sometimes it feels like there is no time to look after yourself. But making time for just 2 or 3 45 minute workouts per week can make a big difference. You improve your health and fitness and your family get a better version of you. It's a win win 😊
