🍎 “The worst night of the year”
That’s how one teacher described the final evening of the summer holidays.
While many teachers will feel excited to be back, others may already be wondering: Can I keep doing this?

As the school holidays come to an end, families everywhere are settling back into familiar and new routines.
Whether it’s early mornings, packed lunches, starting nursery or school, returning to work or simply enjoying quieter days at home, every family’s new normal looks different.

New routines take time, so be kind to yourselves as you find your feet together.
This is a pic of my new normal, one of my girls started Uni so I wont see her until her Birthday in November.

🪙 A PENNY. A TODDLER. A HUGE DIFFERENCE. 💗
In 2025, we introduced our Little Movers Kindness Jars with a very simple purpose — to teach our children that even the smallest act of kindness can make a difference.
In every Little Movers class, our children pop a copper coin into their Kindness Jar while singing our little kindness song. 🎶🪙
One penny doesn't seem like much.
But those pennies keep dropping in — week after week, class after class, child after child.
When a Kindness Jar is full, one family from that franchise territory volunteers to count the pennies, spend the money and deliver an act of kindness within their local community. 💗
And this is where those tiny pennies become something pretty incredible...
On average, one full Kindness Jar contains around £55.
Since launching our Kindness Jars, we have now exceeded 250 acts of kindness across the Little Movers network.
That means our children and families have collectively:
🪙 Collected and spent more than £13,750 on kindness
💰 That's the equivalent of over 1,375,000 pennies
💗 Delivered more than 250 acts of kindness into our communities
😊 And, most importantly, made a LOT of people smile.
All from little coins, dropped into jars by little hands.
And our Kindness Jars haven't just made an impact in our own communities.
We were incredibly proud to see Little Movers founder Mel Buck collect a National Social Impact Award recognising the fantastic impact of our Kindness Jars. 🏆💗
But the biggest achievement isn't the award.
It's our children learning, from such a young age, that you don't need to have a lot to give something.
A copper coin.
A little hand.
A simple song.
One act of kindness.
Multiply that across our Little Movers family and something very small becomes something HUGE.
So when we return to classes in September, remember to bring your pennies along. 🪙 Every single one really does count.
And whether there's a Kindness Jar in front of you or not, there's one thing we can all do every single day.
Always choose kind. We've shared just some of our lovely moments❤
Because a penny and a toddler really CAN make a HUGE difference.

🌊 Taking Little Movers Outdoors! 🌊
We want to give a huge shout out to our fabulous Little Movers North Tyneside franchisee, Fran, who has been taking Little Movers out of the studio and onto the beautiful beaches of North Tyneside this summer. 💗
Fran has been hosting some wonderful outdoor events, giving children opportunities to move, explore, problem solve, communicate and learn through play in a completely different environment.
And this is something we want to do much more of.
Research into outdoor and nature based learning is showing important benefits for children's learning and engagement, physical development, social and emotional development, confidence and wellbeing.
That's why Fran will now be working alongside Little Movers Head Office as we look at how we can develop more outdoor play experiences and bring them to Little Movers communities across the UK. 🇬🇧
For us, outdoor play isn't simply about getting children outside.
It's about recognising the developmental and learning opportunities that outdoor play can provide and putting that research into practice.
We're incredibly excited about where we can take this next.
Could outdoor play become an even bigger part of how our children move, play and learn? We certainly think so. 💗
