🎉 GCSE Results Day at Cedars High Heworth! 🎉

A huge well done to all of our Cedars High Heworth students who came in to collect their GCSE results today. All of your hard work has paid off, and we are incredibly proud of you! 👏

We’ve had some fabulous results, including fantastic Grade 7s and 8s in English Language and Geography (equivalent to the old A and A* grades for those of us more familiar with the previous grading system!)🌟

It has been wonderful to celebrate your achievements with you today. You should all be extremely proud of what you have accomplished.

As we come to the end of our very first academic year at Cedars High Heworth, we would like to take a moment to wish our whole school community a fantastic summer holiday! ☀️🎉

Thank you to our amazing students, families and staff for making our first year so special. We are incredibly proud of everything we have achieved together and can’t wait to continue our journey when we return in September.

To all of our leavers this year we wish you the very best of luck for the future. We are so proud of you and hope you go on to achieve wonderful things. 🌟

✨ Celebrating Our 2026 Leavers ✨

On Friday, we held our special Leavers' Assembly to celebrate our wonderful students leaving this year! It was a lovely opportunity to reflect on their achievements, celebrate their journey and wish them well as they take their next steps.

We are incredibly proud of each and every one of our leavers and all they have accomplished during their time with us. As they move on to new adventures, we wish them every success and happiness for the future.

Good luck to all of our 2026 leavers, we can't wait to see you shine and achieve amazing things in the next stage of your journey. 🌟

As a well-deserved treat for all their hard work this year, our History group have enjoyed two fantastic trips over the past two weeks! 🏛️🌿

Last week they visited the Great North Museum and this week they explored Sunderland Winter Gardens. They were a credit to the school on both visits, showing excellent behaviour and enthusiasm throughout.

The last couple of weeks we have been working with artist & gardener Megan Randall from BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead. 🎨🌱

Our learners have explored a range of edible and sensory plants that Megan brought along, discovering new ways to engage with nature. 🌼🍃 They then got stuck into tidying and developing the Key Stage 3 garden area. 🪴💪

Learners dug over raised beds, planted a variety of new plants and worked together across different age groups, it was brilliant to see everyone collaborating and sharing skills. 🌱🤝😊

We’ll be continuing our work with Megan over the next 2 weeks on more exciting garden-based projects. 🌻🌿
