We were delighted to host J2Easy training at Garvagh Primary School today, welcoming a fantastic group of teachers from local schools. 🏫
What a great opportunity for teachers to come together, share ideas, develop ICT skills and help us all to make the very best use of innovative digital technology to support and inspire the children in our classrooms! Teachers are lifelong learners too and no better way to kick off a new school year than by developing our skills for the benefit of our pupils. πŸ’™ πŸ’»πŸ“±βœ¨
A huge thank you to Charlie, our J2Easy facilitator, for leading such an informative and engaging session, and to Steven Marley for sharing his computer expertise and solving our many tech issues!

What better way to round off a warm week than with an epic whole-school water fight! πŸ˜„β˜€οΈ
Every class took part in the fun, enjoying a fantastic way to cool down in the summer sunshine. There were squeals of laughter, soaked clothes and plenty of smiles all around! Of course, the boys and girls quickly realised the adults were fair game too... and they certainly made the most of the opportunity! πŸ˜†πŸ’¦ Teachers and staff didn't stay dry for long!
A huge well done to everyone for joining in the fun and making it such a memorable event. What a brilliant way to celebrate the end of a fantastic week at Garvagh Primary School! πŸ’œπŸŒˆ

πŸ₯ What a proud day for Garvagh Primary School! πŸŽ‰
On a lovely sunny evening, some of our pupils had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Foundation Awards Celebration at Stormont, celebrating their hard work, dedication and achievements.
A huge thank you goes to Jimmy Paul for his expert tuition in the bagpipes, and to Robert Stewart for his excellent drumming instruction. Your encouragement, patience and commitment have helped our pupils develop their musical talents and confidence.
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the Ulster Scots Agency for their continued support, and to Garvagh Pipe Band for inspiring and encouraging our young musicians throughout their journey.
We are incredibly proud of our pupils for representing our school so brilliantly. Congratulations to everyone involved on this fantastic achievement! πŸ‘πŸŽΆπŸ†

πŸŽ‰ A Proud Achievement for Garvagh Primary School! πŸŽ‰
Today, Ms Carson and Mr Creelman were delighted to receive the Digital Proficiency Certification on behalf of Garvagh Primary School!

This achievement reflects a true whole-school commitment, with pupils, parents, staff and governors all playing an important part in supporting digital proficiency and promoting online safety.

We are incredibly proud to be one of the first 20 schools in Northern Ireland to achieve this accreditation, demonstrating our commitment to equipping our children with the knowledge, skills and confidence to stay safe in an ever-evolving digital world.

As part of this journey, we highly recommend the Safer Schools App as an invaluable resource for children, parents and carers. It provides practical guidance, up-to-date information and support to help families navigate today's digital landscape safely and confidently.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to this fantastic achievement. Together, we are helping to create a safer, smarter and more digitally resilient school community. πŸ’™πŸ’»πŸ›‘οΈ

βš½πŸŽ“ Celebrating Our Primary 7 Leavers 2026 πŸŽ“βš½
Today we said goodbye to a very special group of children as we celebrated our Primary 7 Leavers at Garvagh Primary School.
Our football-themed assembly was filled with smiles, laughter, cheers, awards and plenty of proud moments as parents, family and friends joined us to celebrate the final day of our P7 journey. We enjoyed looking back on wonderful memories made over the years, shared some delicious cake, and recognised the many achievements and successes of our pupils.
One of the most memorable moments of the day was when our leavers received a guard of honour from the younger children before being proudly piped out of the school for the very last time. It was a truly emotional and fitting send-off for a fantastic group of boys and girls.
A special thank you to all the staff who have worked with the children over the years and were part of their journey. A special shout out to Mrs Boyd for the care and attention she put into creating beautiful keepsakes for each and every child.
Now as they leave Garvagh Primary School and begin an exciting new chapter, we want them to know how proud we are of each and every one of them. Thank you for the laughter, friendships, achievements and memories you have created during your time with us.
We will miss you greatly, cherish the years we have shared together, and look forward to hearing about all the wonderful things you will achieve in the future.
Good luck in your new schools, Primary 7. Your Garvagh Primary family will always be cheering you on. πŸ’™β

❀️ Bye bye P7 buddies! ❀️
Our little learners in R,P.1/2 and their P.7 buddies had their very final buddy session today. The children met on the P.7’s final day in primary school to swap cards, hugs and even a few tears! We are thankful for such an amazing buddy group who tenderly and patiently guided their young charges through a school year filled with fun games and activities. Buddies, you have shown compassion, wisdom, kindness and great care, building beautiful bonds with the younger children.
