Creative Minds Childminding - Galston

Creative Minds Childminding - Galston Childminding is available for up to 5 children aged from 30 months to 11 years old. Activities are planned appropriate to the time of year.

My service is a bespoke service and I work with each parent to put together a package that meets the needs of each child as well as those of other children attending at the same time. There is a dedicated play room where there are regular 'invitations to play' and loose parts available to help encourage each child to explore play at their own pace. For children who have had a busy day at school th

ere is a living room to relax in and also a separate quiet seated area where homework can be completed. As children learn through exploring the world around them I provide as varied an outdoor package as possible based around the session time that a child is with me. This includes visits to local woods and parks along with visits to museums and beaches as agreed with parents and within reasonable travelling distance. As with the indoor environment, all outdoor activities are risk assessed prior to taking place.

We had our settling in session for two girls from Galston Primary this morning which went very well. I've still got some availability on certain days but rather than list, if anyone still has a childcare requirement please feel free to get in touch. I'm quite happy to consider working around different shift patterns where possible and allowable within my capacity. I prefer not to max out my sessions in terms of numbers so there is generally some flexibility.

At one point this summer it looked like I would be full and I was turning enquiries away. I have tried to be fair with people and taken enquiries in the order they were made. Unfortunately this has not worked and some people have gone quiet whilst others have gone elsewhere when it turns out I could have met their requirement. Going forward I will only hold a place after a first visit if the person indicates they are keen on progressing. After that there will be settling in session(s) and in the first month either party can end the contract at any point in the very unlikely situation that it isn't working out.
So the good news for anyone still looking for childcare for the start of the new term is that I have most times available 😀

So we had our last session of madness at jungle madness. It's always a little bit sad when wee ones move on to a new area but that's the nature of the business and hopefully they leave with some happy memories. This does, however, open up a potential afternoon session. I'm also starting to look at availability from August and taking initial enquiries.

The morning crew took advantage of a break in the weather to enjoy a trip to Dundonald Castle. Thanks to the Friends of Dundonald Castle for making us feel most welcome and giving us a personal tour including a trip to the top of the castle and a jousting session 😀.
