Our school provides excellent levels of support, high levels of learning and teaching, a wide variety of extra-curricular opportunities and experiences and a varied and accessible curriculum. Of our students we expect very high levels of attendance and punctuality and a pride in wearing our school uniform which represents identity and equality. In classes we encourage all our students to be ambitious and to always give of their best in everything they do. We also want our students to believe that making mistakes is part of learning and essential to making progress. I believe strongly in partnership and working together in trust and openness. To parents we ask that you continue to support your children at home and keep in touch with the school. To the local community we would also welcome any support as we develop our young people and deliver a wide and varied curriculum. We value your feedback. Match day is here! ⚽ Our Galashiels Academy S1 team takes on Earlston High School for their first competitive match. The match starts at 10am at Tweedbank Sports Centre. Players, please meet at 9:40am. Come along, show your support and help bring the team spirit!

Hockey updates

We’re excited to host Earlston this coming Saturday 5th May, with matches for our S1, S2 and S3 taking place at Tweedbank.

All S3 players should arrive for 8.40am for a 9am start, with S1 and S2 arriving for 9.15am ready to begin their matches.

Hockey kit can be purchased from The Trophy Guy in Galashiels, if any player needs to borrow a stick, please see the PE Dept as soon as possible.

Team sheets will be on the notice board at the 2-Court Games Hall, anyone who would like to play, who hasn’t already let Miss Malcolm or Mr. Cahlin know should pop to the PE Dept tomorrow to let staff know.

🔬 Science Supported Study is back!

If you are sitting Biology, Chemistry or Physics this year, our supported study sessions are a great opportunity to get some extra help and prepare with confidence.

Come along to:

* get support with homework
* revisit tricky topics or areas of the course
* practise exam-style questions
* ask questions and get individual help from your teacher

Sessions are available for Biology, Chemistry and Physics — see the poster for days and times.

Match day is here! 🏉 Galashiels Academy U13 take on Melrose Rugby on Saturday 5th September for their first competitive match with Galashiels Academy. The match has a 9:30am kick-off at Netherdale. Players should arrive at 8.45am with their playing kit, boots, gumshield and water. Please see Mr. Cameron-Lyle for any kit requirements.

Any other players not named who would like to participate, should see Mr. Cameron-Lyle as soon as possible.
