🍦✨ Welcome to the Little Gems Ice Cream Parlour! ✨🍦

Scoop, serve, and smile! 😊 Our children have been having a wonderful time exploring our ice cream parlour role-play area, serving up delicious imaginary treats to their friends and teachers.

Role play is a fantastic way for children to develop their communication skills, creativity, confidence, and imagination while having lots of fun! 🍨💬🌟

We think our little ice cream sellers are doing an amazing job! Who would like a scoop? 🙋‍♀️🍦

🌱✨ Today we came together as one amazing school community to create our Garden of Dreams! 🌈🪴

An underused space has been transformed into our very own school allotment, with every class having their own special patch to grow, nurture and enjoy 🌻🍓🥕

This simply wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible hard work from the Hillcrest team and our wonderful families 💜 From the hard work today 👏 to the generous donations and shared vision — thank you all for helping bring this project to life!

We cannot wait to get planting and watch our garden grow 🌿☀️

📚✨ Book Week in Emerald Class! ✨📚

Emerald Class were completely immersed in their class book for Book Week, Bog Baby — a story that was new to many of the children but quickly became a firm favourite! 💙

The children were full of excitement and curiosity as they explored the storyline together. Their enthusiasm led them to learn more about different habitats, and they even created their own wonderful Bog Baby habitat as part of their learning. 🐸🌿

They also worked collaboratively to produce a fantastic text map of the story, alongside lots of other creative and engaging activities inspired by the book. It has been wonderful to see their imaginations and love of learning flourish through storytelling! 📖✨

As part of our celebration of Book Week, tonight we hosted a truly wonderful Reading Evening where our families came together to share their love of stories 💛

From cosy bedtime stories 🧸🌙, to inspiring guest readers 📖✨ and discovery time inspired by our special class books, the academy was filled with excitement, imagination and the joy of reading.

There is something so special about seeing our community united through books ❤️

A huge thank you to our incredible families and dedicated staff for making the evening such a success — we are so grateful for your continued support 🙏✨

At Hillcrest Early Years Academy we don’t just celebrate World Book Day… we celebrate World Book Week! 📚✨

A love of reading truly permeates throughout our academy and we cannot wait for a full week dedicated to stories, imagination and creativity.

This year, each class has randomly selected a book (there was so much excitement when the books were revealed! 🤭🎉). Classes have been given complete free rein to plan their week around their chosen story — and we can’t wait to see where their ideas take them!
