A lesson to always check your sources.

So we have all heard "it only takes 5 pounds of pressure to break a wrist once in a wrist lock". I have heard this from multiple instructors over the years, from various disciplines. Turns out, this is a common hyperbole used to show the weakness in joints when in a lock or hold. It wasn't until I was sat working one day recently that it came to me and I thought "that cannot be true!" and so I did some digging. Turns out, being autistic made me really take that one literally and I have passed it down to you all πŸ˜† so my apologies everyone! As I always teach you, question me and don't assume I am correct πŸ₯‹πŸ‘

A difficult month for training for reasons out of our control. Now on a break for summer.

Keep practicing if you want to maintain your progress πŸ₯‹

I will be in touch closer to September regarding start back date, I will need to confirm when we can have the building.

If anybody wants to leave training at 19:30 this evening so they can watch the football match, please let me know. If it's a majority we'll close at 19:30 but we'll go through until 20:00 otherwise πŸ˜€πŸ₯‹

After much deliberation, with temperatures being above 30 at time of training we are going to yet again follow advice and cancel training tonight. I am sorry for any inconvenience but it's not worth the kids overheating and potentially getting unwell. Take care everyone and stay hydrated

If you want to wear a t-shirt instead of a gi top tonight to make yourself more comfortable then feel free πŸ₯‹πŸ‘

Morning all, I've checked guidance with the temperatures this week. There's nothing concrete but the FA advise against rigorous activities for kids when the temperature is over 30. They advise if the indoor space isn't air conditioned and will be above 30 to consider cancelling. Wednesday is predicted to be 31 at 18:00 and the hall will be even hotter. I've spoken to Ish and he agrees to call it off to avoid anyone getting heat stroke. Sorry for any inconvenience and I'll see you all next week

A reminder that there is no training tonight :)

27/05/2026

We are back to training on 10th June and then we are closed again for 1 week on 17th June.
