Nursery Practitioner
We are a well-established family nursery with a forest school on site and babies from 3 months old. We are ideally looking for qualified and/or experienced staff who have a love of working with children.
We would also be happy to take an apprentice or trainee
Staff are well supported in their personal and professional development together with in-house training
Offering an hourly rate between minimum wage and £11 per hour depending on age, qualifications and experience.
Opportunities to take on additional roles and progressing up the ladder with an increment in pay.
Daily responsibilities:
To have a sound knowledge of child development
To have the ability to use that knowledge effectively to meet the needs of individual children
To be able to work as part of a team

Your days will be fun, messy, outdoors, creative, explorative, child-led, but never the same! The early years are a magical time and we want people in our team to harness every child’s individual sparkle, to nurture that seed of magic with love and care and to inspire every individual child.
We are a forest nursery and work hard to entwine nature within the setting, bringing nature in and making the most of nature when we are out! We welcome applications from practitioners qualified to NVQ Level 3 or above in Early Years childcare but also accept applications from non-qualified candidates who share our desire to reconnect children with nature. Any Forest School qualifications or experience are a bonus but not a requirement, as we train in-house.

First Steps Nursery have a great opportunity for a cleaner to join our growing team on a part time basis. You will be passionate about our space looking its best and providing a fantastic experience for our children and parents. You will be responsible for ensuring the nursery is cleaned and tidied to the highest standard. Reporting to our manager, you will be able to work autonomously but be flexible in your approach as a result of the ever-changing day to day demands of a nursery setting. We are looking for someone Monday – Friday 3:30pm-5:30pm.
Our safer recruitment procedures include carrying out Enhanced DBS checks.
