- Chat and have tea together!

- Replant a section of hedgerow on the Mendip Way near Frome.

- Which in turns supports our participants when they spend time on our site!

Volunteers - that is people like YOU - help us to maintain and improve our forest school site and allotments. Thank you!

All ages welcome. Tasks can suit your ability.

A little bit about us.

We are Forest School practitioners based in Frome, Somerset.

We're here to grow people's wellbeing outdoors, and to ensure that local people have the opportunity to develop a close relationship with the natural world.

- We run weekly sessions:

🌿SELGrow, alternative provision in small groups, mainly referrals from schools and Somerset council, during school terms.

🌿 Project Grow for 15-20 year olds not in education, employment or training, during school terms. Usually referred to us, but get in touch if you're interested in this.

🌿 Adult wellbeing group - Mondays throughout the year. This is free, but if you can offer a small contribution that would be helpful too.

- Other sessions:

🌿We also have volunteering days at our site. Every 2nd and 4th Saturday.
For any questions about this, please email us.
🌿 Pop events, e.g. at Frome Children's Festival
🌿 Outdoor learning services in schools
🌿 Holiday Forest school sessions
🌿 Holiday Forest School sessions for children/ youths with additional support needs (partly funded by Somerset Council)

🌿EMAiL LIST for holiday sessions.
Let us know if you'd like to be put on an our newsletter for info about future holiday session. Our email address: [email protected] (please tell us which sessions you are interested in. General Holiday sessions or sessions for those with additional support needs)

We had the shock last week of finding the footpath to Vallis veg churned up by caterpillar tracks and heavy boring machinery. The land is being surveyed by a potential housing developer.

Even more painful is the stretch of hedgerow which, last October, contract hedge flayers flayed, to within an inch of their lives, literally.

DRATS; just when it feels like this hedgerow should be making a statement in a bid for habitats not just houses, there are long treeless gaps.

HOWEVER, we DO have lots of hedge whips: blackthorn, Rowen, ash and possibly willow.

With enough of us
We could fill those gaps!
(and we could tell you more about what's going on with our Forest school.)

We'll provide tea, tools and cake.
bring a friend maybe? And your own favourite beverage and lunch if you want.

We'll be there from 11 am until 3pm Saturday the 14th February

please join us!

🌿DETAILS
The East Mendip Way. The field near Wallington Way, BA11 3EJ
Expect mud! It looks like it will be sunny.

This Saturday 14th February.
We''ll be there between 11am and 3pm.
Come for some or all of the time.

loads of love
