A BIG well done to our Milk Street Movers!

Wow, we are so incredibly proud of the whole school! Our Milk Street Movers threw themselves into the 'Move Your Feet' sponsored walk with enthusiasm and determination. Everyone chose the challenge that suited them and pushed themselves out of their comfort zone - tackling big hills and keeping going even when it got tough. Together, we covered the north, south, east and west of our catchment area. It was wonderful to have so many members of the community waving and beeping as we passed - it really kept us smiling!

We have been absolutely blown away by the generosity of our extended families and wider community. We smashed our target and have so far raised an incredible £3,812 for the school - with time still left to sponsor our walkers. https://www.goodhub.com/go/milkstreetmoveyourfeetcampaign

A huge thank you also to our PTA for the wonderful finish line bunting, refreshments, cake sale and brilliant comments board!

Wakey, wakey Vallis! Today is the day our Milk Street Movers will be pounding the streets to walk a total of 10 miles around Frome.
We're lacing up our walking boots to take part in our 'Move Your Feet' sponsored walk in three groups, covering our catchment area.
We will be proudly pacing through the Packsaddle Fields, Whatcombe Fields and Rodden Meadow. You'll see us around Innox Hill, Leys Lane, Vallis Road, the Portway, even as far as Egford Lane.
Frome Community, please give us a wave or a beep of your horn if you see us, which will keep us motivated.
Our incredible school families have already been donating generously and we haven't even left the building yet! Thank you so much.

✨ An Unforgettable Adventure for Year 4! ✨

Last week, our Year 4s headed off to Osmington Bay for their Residential - and what a trip it was!

From building and launching rafts into the sea, to scaling climbing walls, flying along the zip wire and tackling tricky team challenges, every moment was packed with fun and achievement.

It was wonderful to see friendships grow stronger, confidence soar and so many happy, smiling faces embracing new experiences.

A fabulous achievement for every single one of them, we couldn't be prouder!

This Friday 8th May, our Milk Street Movers will be lacing up their walking boots (or trainers!) to take part in our 'Move Your Feet' sponsored walk.

Our children and staff will be divided into three groups, collectively covering a distance of 10 miles around our catchment area.

Please encourage your family and friends to sponsor our walkers and leave a message of encouragement – it means so much and helps keep them motivated!

🐣 Easter Egg Trail this Wednesday 1st April, 3.10pm - 5pm!🐣

It is always wonderful watching the children filter down Catherine Hill to find the eggs in the windows of our supportive local businesses!

The trail will take place on Wednesday 1st April from 3.10pm
– 5pm, starting in front of Vallis First School and ending at the library where chocolate prizes will be waiting!

🌱 Reducing Food Waste at Vallis First School 🌱

We’ve been running our food‑waste reduction scheme for a few months now, in collaboration with The Community Fridge Frome - and it’s going brilliantly!

Each day, surplus food from school lunches is made available for families to take home instead of going to waste. The scheme is discreet and open to all families at Vallis First School.

If you’d like to collect a fresh, packaged meal, please come to the Office at 3:10pm. Items are given out on a first‑come, first‑served basis.

A big thank you to Terri Pitts, Manager of The Community Fridge Frome and a valued member of our lunchtime team here at Vallis, for proposing this project and making it happen. 💚
