Here at Rivers we've been busy exploring natural phenomena through observation of our environment, practical exploration and design. We've been learning about native tribes and ways in which communities work together to live harmoniously with nature, the varying landscapes and the interconnectedness of the elements which are fundamental to life.
In maths, we have been busy looking at pattern and shape. The children worked well with 2D shapes and have been exploring symmetry and fractions. Yesterday we took our lesson outside to identify 3D shapes in our environment!
In Literacy, the children have been practising the joins between the lower case letters to build even greater confidence with this. We regularly review our phonics through reading sessions and short writing tasks.
We've also been learning about life on the farm and the tasks that need to be completed during the winter months. These lessons often include story telling of farm life many years ago for the children to compare how life on the farm has changed over time.
