Children in after school Art Club made some incredible fish skeleton pieces inspired by Darrell Wakelam using paper straws and paper plates. ❤️🙌

There has been a lot of excitement in Year 4 this week... At the beginning of the new term, children are asked to write, record or film an application, or even have a short interview, explaining which role they would like and why they would be good at it.

Then this week, Mrs Simenton announced who had been chosen as our new House Captains and Vice-Captains, Play Leaders, Librarians and Eco-Warriors.

We already know they are going to do an excellent job of helping everyone this year. In fact, the Eco-Warriors have already completed their first assignment - helping Marc to build a bug house by the pond, using recycled stone and wood from the school garden! 🕷️ 🐌 🐜

We were lucky enough to have the Elmore Quartet in school this morning. They told the children all about the instruments, their different sounds, and the different ways of playing them, then answered all the children’s questions. Afterwards, they played several pieces of classical music for everyone, including music from ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ and ‘Star Wars’ which everyone recognised!

The Elmore Quartet have been performing in the Cavatina Festival in Mells and Frome this week. The last performance is at 7pm this evening at St John’s Church. They would love to see more children in the audience - why not go along and see? 🎻 🎶
