What a fantastic turn out for our carol service at St.Michael’s Church. The children sang beautifully and it was a lovely festive atmosphere, finished off with mince pies and mulled wine! 🎄
Thank you so much to our special visitors, Harriet and Lisa from Phunky Foods. Bunnies had a great time learning about ‘eating a rainbow’ and placing the fruits and vegetables on the right colour on the rainbow, finished off with story. 🍍
You will not believe what’s happened this morning…
Bunnies have received some post!
A letter from Bubble, the Kindess Elf! He has told us that he’d really like to come and visit us again this year as he just loves to see all the Christmas kindness in our class. He asked us if we could please let him know if that would be okay. Of course, we are all very eager for Bubble to return so we have been very busy writing letters and drawing pictures for him to let him know that we’d love to see him.
Let’s hope he makes an appearance 🤞 We’ve put a tree up ready for him!
🌟🌟🌟 Well done to this week’s super Stars of the Week! 🌟🌟🌟
A lovely, Christmassy day at Whinlatter: exploring the forest, making crafts and a visit from Santa himself!
We could not be more proud of our littlest learners; reading and writing at every opportunity-at nursery AND at home. They throw themselves in to their Read, Write Inc Phonics sessions with gusto and are loving sharing their learning at home, using their flash cards and watching the videos. 🐸

Here is just a small sample of the wonderful things our children have been doing. The most important thing to say is that they are absolutely loving learning and their enthusiasm is infectious! They’re all progressing at their own pace and achieving in their own amazing ways. We’ve had some wonderful celebrations recently: children writing their names independently, beginning to form letters, we’ve had some writing CVC words, independent sentence writing with finger spaces, oral blending, spotting sounds that they’ve learnt in their bedtime stories…I could go on!
❄️What a beautiful morning for frosty adventures!❄️
Bunnies have been exploring and learning; using their scientific knowledge to discuss their findings and make predictions. They made friends with a slug who they decided to name, Elsa!
Children have been using some fantastic vocabulary to describe their discoveries, talk about changes they notice and have been asking insightful questions to further their own knowledge. What super stars!
All warmed up with a hot chocolate now.

Well done to our amazing stars this week 🌟👏
Also Albie who isn’t pictured ⭐️
Our nursery children are enjoying learning about living healthy lifestyles. Their learning takes on several forms with lots of putting their learning in to practice; brushing their teeth after dinner, getting lots of fresh air and exercise, eating a healthy snack each morning, access to fresh water all day and so on. This will help the children form these healthy habits from a young age.
Today we made pea soup. We added some frozen spinach for added nutrition. It was so tasty, some children had seconds and thirds! 😋
We’re looking forward to an upcoming visit from Harriet and Lisa from Phunky Foods to further our learning even more!

Does “free to play” really mean what it says? 🤔🎮 Many hit games cost nothing to download but make their money via microtransactions – a growing concern for parents of young gamers. Our guide has the details 👀
