We see a large number of common words in our reading and, as we become more confident readers, learn to read these instantly. Reading these words without 'Fred talk' means children read more fluently and therefore focus their attention on understanding the text. In school, our children practise 'speedy reading' as part of their daily phonics lessons but any additional practise you can fit in at home would be beneficial. Visit our website to find links to the Speedy Green Word Slideshows.
Autumn Term Week 5. Well done to each and every one of our Star of the Week winners. We are extremely proud of you. ☺️ Keep up the fantastic work. 👏⭐️
Last week, Reception were very lucky to receive a visit from two police officers. They spoke about their role, showed us lots of special equipment, taught us how to take fingerprints and we even got to have a closer look in the police car. It was a very fun and exciting afternoon. Thank you very much for coming! 👮 👮♀️🚓🚔
