Yr 6 Maths - SAT’s Booster Sessions over the Easter Holidays

It’s just 6 weeks until the Yr 6 SAT’s tests, is your son or daughter ready and feeling confident? I hope so.

However, would a couple of 1-2-1 Maths booster sessions, specifically focused on the maths SAT’s challenges (arithmetic and reasoning), be helpful to instil greater confidence, fill some gaps and cement a little maths mastery?

It’s amazing what can be achieved in a couple of hours of dedicated focus and support.

I have made availability for up to 8 children to have 2 x 1 hour SAT’s specific maths support over the Easter holidays, at an all inclusive rate of just £35.

The 1 hour sessions can be held on any 2 of the following 4 dates:

Monday 3rd April
Tuesday 4th April
Thursday 6th April
Tuesday 11th April

Dates and times can be tailored to suit, subject to a first come, first served arrangement.

So to confirm, the offer is: 2 x 1 hour sessions of focused maths support, specific to Yr 6 SAT’s for just £35.

Give me a call and let’s instil some confidence before May and the SAT’s papers arrive.

Another little legend started secondary school in September with some gaps in his maths knowledge.

With our sessions starting at the same time as his first steps into secondary education, his assessment during our first session scored 6.5 / 20.

At the start of November he took another assessment scoring 13 / 20 and then in our final session before the Christmas break his 3rd assessment scored 18 / 20, incredible progress! 🙂

Confident we have filled the gaps, we’re now focused on mastering the KS3 learning journey whilst maintaining our core skills along the way.

Developing confidence (& ability) with times tables is key to development across all forms of maths.

In just 6 weeks, this little super star has improved her weekly times tables challenge completion time from 4 mins 56 seconds to 2 mins 47 seconds.

Incredible progress driven from practice and increased confidence. Top work. 🙂

Welcome to 2023, perhaps it’s time to get the new year started with a few simple ‘2023’ number challenges.

How many can you (or your son or daughter) complete in 3 mins and 22.3 seconds? (202.3 seconds).

Set a countdown timer and challenge the family.

20 + 23 =

20 - 23 =

20 x 23 =

202 / 3 =

20% of 23 =

20 + 23 x 20 - 23 =

Which is a prime number, 20 or 23?

What are the factors of the number 20?

A piece of string measures 2,023mm, how long is the piece of string in cm’s?

A group of children did a sponsored walk, 20 children walked 23 miles and 23 children walked 20 miles, how many miles did all the children walk in total?

Ellie purchased a coat for £20 but it didn’t fit, she sold it on eBay for £23, what % profit did Ellie make when selling the coat?

If you got 11 / 11 inside the time limit 👏👏👏

Maths can be fun, having fun during learning can be inspiring whilst personalised learning journeys can be the missing link to making progress.

There’s always more than one way to solve a challenge, with a little help and guidance absolutely anything is possible in maths.

Here’s to a year of learning in 2023.

Primary and Secondary Maths Tutor - based in Frinton / Kirby Cross.

Specialising in core arithmetic, problem solving and reasoning skills for Key Stage 2 (7 to 11 year olds) and Key Stage 3 (11 to 14 year old) school curriculums.

Does your son or daughter need a little 1-2-1 help to grasp the fundamentals of maths to develop their attainment and progress in school?

Maybe he or she would like to strengthen a skill set to aid maths mastery?

Whether the requirement be establishing a basic foundation of mental maths, times tables and core arithmetic to more specific disciplines such as geometry, measurement, fractions, decimals, percentages, algebra, ratio, proportion and more, making the learning fun, structured and progressive in each session is key.

All sessions are tailored following an initial assessment in our first session, with personalised learning journeys, regular ongoing progress assessments and progress updates fedback to parents / carers.

Weekly sessions prove most beneficial and I have some availability both during the week or at weekends if preferred.

Priced for the benefit of affordability:

45 minute sessions - £17.50
60 minute sessions - £20.00

Feel free to give me a call to discuss how I can help your child establish a skill and passion for maths, regardless of current ability and feelings towards the subject.
