⚽️ School Football ⚽️

Today we hosted Kinlochleven High School for some pre-season friendlies 🫱🏻‍🫲🏼 We had a our Senior Boys and Senior Girls taking on Kinloch in 7-a-side games at the astro 🧤

It was a great opportunity for both schools to get some game time and do some last minute preparation before our seasons begin and competitions commence 💪🏼

Thank you to Kinlochleven for travelling to play and well done to everyone involved for playing out the games in a friendly manner whilst also maintaining high standards 👏🏻

Snowsport Scotland Fast Track Ski Instructor Course is available for senior pupils (age 16+) from Lochaber High and Kinlochleven High who are keen skiers. The ski instructor course is being held at Glencoe Mountain on 28th/29th November 2026 and 2nd/3rd January 2027.

Keeping children safe online - with Police Scotland and Education Scotland - Wednesday 23 September,12-1pm or 5:30-6:30pm, online

This webinar is being delivered in partnership by Parenting Across Scotland, Police Scotland's Cybercrime Harm Prevention Team and Education Scotland. There will be a short presentation by Police Scotland exploring how you can help keep yourself and your loved ones safe whilst online, followed by Education Scotland discussing concerns about the use of technology in schools and digital awareness in the curriculum, then an opportunity to ask questions.

Our annual school hike will take place on Wednesday 16th September 2026, weather permitting.

Pupils will take part in a sponsored walk to raise funds to support school trips, extra-curricular clubs, events and outdoor education activities, with 10% of funds raised being donated to a charity chosen by pupils.

Maths homework
We are currently trialling a range of homework approaches across the department, including both Chromebook-based and paper-based activities. We would be grateful if parents could take a few moments to check in with their child about their homework and encourage them to complete it. Your support will help us identify the approaches that engage pupils most effectively and support their learning.

Maths Week Scotland (21st – 25th Sept)
Plans are under way for some ‘maths positive’ activities for Maths Week Scotland this year. We have employees coming in to demonstrate how they use maths in their job as well as in class activities. We will also be taking part in the ‘Scotland Rocks’ competition on TT Rockstars. This website gets pupils practising their times tables so if pupils are looking for an alternative to Sparx they could log on and improve their times.
