This week, our Typhoon training will be conducted between the hours of 1200-2200 to allow pilots to complete their routine night-flying exercises. 🌙

⚠ Flying Notice ⚠

Merlin helicopters from 845 NAS (Royal Navy) will be operating out of RAF Lossiemouth from 2nd February - 13th February.

They will be operating between RAF Lossiemouth and Tain Range at various altitudes. Horse riders are advised to wear hi-viz when hacking to ensure pilots can see you and change their flight path where appropriate.

RAF Lossiemouth will be hosting a number of F-15 and F-35 aircraft for several days over the next 2 weeks:

26th/27th January*
2nd/3rd February*

This is part of Exercise POINT BLANK which will see aircraft operating over various areas of Scotland, particularly throughout the Highlands and off the East Coast.

*Dates and areas of operation may change where required.

❗Flying Notice❗

On Monday (13th Oct), 847 Naval Air Squadron (NAS) are returning to RAF Lossiemouth. They will be operating from our station in order to conduct training exercises at Tain Range, some of which will be done during the evenings.

'Wildcats' may be seen operating at various altitudes in different areas around the Moray Firth during the exercise.

⚠️ Night Flying Announcement ⚠️

Over the next 2 weeks our Typhoon Squadrons will be operating later than usual to allow our pilots to maintain their low-light/night training.

This will run from the 29th of September until the 10th of October.

Hours of operation are scheduled to be:
29/9 - 3/10: 1500-0100
6/10 - 10/10: 1100-2100

As always, thank you for your support in ensuring our personnel are ready to secure the skies at any time, day or night.

Attention all horse riders.

Please see the post below from RAF Lossiemouth regarding chinook helicopters potentially flying in the area and advice for horse riders.

The sound of the "Wokka Wokkas" has returned to Scotland!

Chinooks from 28 (AC) Squadron have arrived at Leuchars Aerodrome for Exercise KUKRI DAWN (18th-29th August).

🐴 All horse-riders are advised to wear hi-vis so pilots can avoid low-flying near you when possible.

💪 Operating throughout different areas of Scotland the teams will be operating alongside the British Army, Royal Navy, and Emergency Services, showcasing the power of joint operations and inter-service collaboration.

A very proud moment for Burgie, Musketeer and the Lochore family as Alec is named course designer for the 2028 LA Olympic Games.

A proud moment for us at Musketeer as Alec Lochore is named cross-country course designer for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. It’s incredibly well deserved.

Alec said: 🗨️ "I am humbled, honoured and delighted to have been asked to design the cross-country track for the Olympic Games LA28.

“It will be a great challenge, and one which I am looking forward to immensely.

"I am fortunate enough to have been involved with the organisation and planning of several Olympic Games, and each Olympics is unique and special. The Olympics is the biggest showcase that our sport - that any sport - has, and to be chosen as course designer is very exciting."
