✨The children here at Jack & Jill’s have been enjoying taking SIMOA the elephant out on their adventures outside of nursery with them ✨

🐘 SIMOA stands for Safe, Inspect, Monitor, Observe, Act 🐘

🌟It is a child safety campaign promoted by Care Inspectorate in Scotland to help ensure children are safe, seen and supported 🌟

👦🏻👧🏻Children learn best when they are involved in making decisions about safety rather than simply being told what to do. SIMOA encourages children to notice what is happening around them, recognise when something isn’t safe and know what to do next. 👧🏻👦🏻

☔️🌧️🌈 Since the rain made an appearance this week, and created lots of big puddles we had lots of excited children. They had great fun splashing, jumping, and exploring outdoors, developing their confidence, coordination, and love of nature through playful, hands-on learning 🌈🌧️☔️
🫧💦They have also been busy working together with their peers to create very large bubbles that floated around them while developing their teamwork, communication, and turn-taking skills💦🫧

✨👮🏻‍♀️The children have been enjoying role-playing as police officers, using their imaginations to explore helping others, keeping people safe, and working together. 👮🏻‍♀️✨
👮🏻😆 They were excited to welcome a visit from the local police, who showed the children their uniform and equipment, talked about how they help the community, and answered the children's questions.❓👮🏻😆
🚨🚓 The children got very excited when they got to hear the sirens and watch the blue lights 🚓🚨
💭✨The visit brought the children’s role play to life, encouraging curiosity, confidence, and a greater understanding of the important role police officers play in our community✨💭
