There are two things that keep us all alive: STORIES and SEEDS.
Since the dawn of time there is a mysterious relationship between the two.
This is my beginning of a list of statements true for both:
STORIES and SEEDS:

🥜They store inside them a hidden life force, and their power of transformation helps us grow.

🥜They come in many shapes and forms, the best ones are kept as precious treasures and are passed down from one generation to the next.

🥜They help us connect to our ancestors, roots and origins and are essential for our future.

🥜As they spread around the world, they keep changing, with new variations appearing and adapting to local circumstances and conditions.

🥜They provide us with nourishment. Some are hard to swallow and some can help us digest.

🥜In some parts of the world they are still exchanged and collected as valuable gifts.
🥜 They can grow in the most unexpected and unloved places, overcoming challenging conditions and breakinh through the hardest of surfaces.
🥜How we use them and keep them will determine our future. We could not live without them.

Now give some water to this seed and add your own creative thoughts about the connections you see between the two and help this story / seed list grow...

Dear friends I hope this finds you happy and well. I have had one unexpected cancellation on ‘Once Upon a Lifetime’ ( 20th September-2nd October at the Peredur) and so this is a fantastic opportunity for 1 person to join my favourite two week storytelling course exploring weaving together autobiographical stories and traditional wondertales into one performance. ( Those of you who have visited the graduation events of storytelling beyond words at Emerson may remember how powerful this weave can be. ) No previous experience is needed and this course counts as an entry level unit to our part time flagship course that is no on offer in a modular format). More information here - https://www.roigalor.com/onceuponalifetime2026. Let me know if you wish to join us! Much love. Roi

Stories don’t care how old you are. Children drink in the wholesome nourishment they provide and then tell them with fearless imagination. The old tell them, packed with the gifts of hard-earned lived experience and wisdom.
You’re never too young to start telling stories and never too old to steal the show and shine with the light of who you are.
But what would you like to be a voice for?
Our storytelling courses often become a hub for multi generational learning. There is a genius to every age. On the most recent course the youngest participants were in their 20’s and the elders in their 70’s and 80’s. Gathering around the fire of stories we all tap into something ageless, greater, wiser than us all. Storytellers invite us to shed some old skins and discover new ways of being. ‘Folktales in troubled times starting this October. Will you join us around the fire?
