Make individual parent and child playtimes a priority each day. Agree on a time to meet together and record it on the calendar. A unique routine will be established once the play times have started, highlighting the significance this shared activity. As it is a time to be cherished and should be valued as such, I continue beavering away creating relatable characters and accompanying resources to deepen the emotional bond between parent and child. The keepsake cat pictured in the previous post is a creative reproduction based on a Marshall the cat. A pretty ordinary cat by anyone's standards but he is living an extra-ordinary life. One which will assist children to gain a fresh perspective on home and family. Marshall will help open the door to discussing topics such as gratitude, self- knowledge, relationships and friendship. -parenting

A momento of Marshall the 'Everyday Hero cat.'
He is a cat with personality and confidence , who knows how to take care of himself in an environment inhabited by snakes, territorial cats and a myriad of competitive animals. He character will be remembered within the legacy of anecdotes shared from one to another.
Animal behaviour provides us with opportunities to use their stories in juxtaposition to the experiences of humans. This is a useful tool when trying to explain abstract concepts such as emotions and how feelings/emotions may affect us negatively.
