🌊 Stay Water Safe! National Drowning Prevention Week – This Week 🌊
This week we are taking part in National Drowning Prevention Week (Saturday 13 June – Saturday 20 June 2026).
To support this important campaign, the children have been learning vital water safety skills. They have also created some fantastic informative posters to help remind us all how to stay safe in and around water. These are attached for you to view and discuss at home.
💙 Why this matters:
* Vital skills: Water safety awareness can save lives
* Summer readiness: Warmer weather means more trips to pools, beaches and open water
* Awareness: Small reminders can help prevent serious accidents
🏡 How you can help at home:
* Take time to look at and talk about the children’s posters together
* Ask your Year 3 and Year 4 children about the “Safe Swim” rules they have been learning this week
This national campaign is supported by the Royal Life Saving Society UK, helping schools and families build confidence and safety around water.
Thank you for your continued support in helping keep our children safe. 💙
