This week, Years 1 & 2 joined their friends from Breamore Church of England Primary School for a visit to Blashford Lakes in the spring sunshine! ☀️🌿

They had a great time pond dipping, learning about all the creatures which make the pond their home.
They also enjoyed developing their map skills by making treasure maps! 🗺️ 🧭

We had an exciting morning this morning in school as we had a new headteacher for an hour!!
Don't worry Mrs Allen, Miss Daniels had everything under control. She completed all her jobs including celebration assembly, sending an email, checking the register, phoning Breamore and Hale and completing a learning walk. She even enjoyed a cup of tea in the staff room. Thank you Miss Daniels for all your hard work this morning!!

We tried pomegranates as part of our whole class reading book 'The boy at the back of the class'. The main character gifts a new member of their class one to remind them of home. Lots of Oak class had not tried one before and were surprised at how tasty they were!

'Jesus: the light of the world'
Last Thursday we were invited by the team at Hyde Church to attend a Messy Church session. It was all about light. We finished with a Christingle Service. Thank you for organising such wonderful activities for us to take part in.

We are a small school nestled in the heart of our village community and we are often fortunate to have the love and close teamwork of our families.

This ranges from parent volunteers to community members helping us out.

Our new EYFS area has been buzzing at the arrival of these stunning Discovery Boards! Perfect for fine motor, coordination, creativity, engineering and problem solving. These were made a donated entirely voluntarily and we could not be more grateful for the thought and care that has gone into them.

🎄✨ Christmas Dinner Time! ✨🎄

Today we enjoyed a wonderful Christmas dinner at Hyde Memorial Hall! The food was absolutely delicious, and we’d like to say a big thank you to Mrs Squires, Mrs Allen, and Mr Dave (our new site assistant) for helping Kelly dish it all up. 😄🍽️

To finish off our festive fun, we enjoyed a friendly game of bingo — lots of smiles, laughter and a great way to spend a rainy lunchtime! 🎉🎄

What a lovely time we had together! 💖

Part of our ethos as a church school is learning how Christians worldwide celebrate and worship Jesus at this special time of year.

Our new display highlights imagery and artwork from all corners of the globe. Some features are common to many of them (a guiding star, halos, gifts from visitors) - but many have different details, reflecting different cultures and heritages.

We love how this art shows that Jesus is for everyone, and the human desire to feel a connection to a man who was just like them.

Last night our Year 5/6 children from Hyde, Breamore and Hale all came together to tell the 'Christmas Story' through readings and song.
St Mary's Church in Fordingbridge was the perfect venue to host our annual carol concert and listen to our children's wonderful singing voices.
Well done everyone it was a really magical evening.

We would like to say a huge and heartfelt thank you to our wonderful PTA, the Hyde School Friends Association, for treating us to a Christmas day out at the pantomime last week.
It is not often that a school gets to come together for something as memorable and special as this. Every face was glued to the stage - some in smiles and delight, some just in awe.... thank you so very much. An absolute treat for our little school family!
