Design the 2021 Mascot and Win Free Tickets! - TEDxFolkestone Win Free Tickets to the Event: Our 2021 event is fast approaching with its theme of A New Horizon. It’s time for us to find a new mascot, featuring our favourite seagull, and we want your help. We’d love you to design it for us.

Collection of 2020 GCSE & A Level Art Coursework

If you studied a GCSE or A Level Art subject you are to collect your artwork during half term on Monday 2nd November 10am-12pm

Please wear a face covering when coming to collect your artwork.

- FAMILY WORKSHOPS -

To help prep your work for The Plinth and spark some inspiration, Creative Folkestone will be running the Family Workshop series.

We'll be encouraging families to pick up activity packs and join in with workshops each week. Elevate your at-home creativity from living room floor to prime position on The Plinth.

For each workshop there are 50 free material packs available, one per family on a first come first served basis. Please pick up your pack between Thursday and Friday, from 9am-5pm from the Glassworks, prior to the Saturday workshop.

It's our first family workshop this weekend, Abstract portrait Sand Casting with Matt Rowe. Using interesting shapes, forms and objects of your choice, using sand and plaster you will cast and create your own super cool abstract portraits.The video will go live this Saturday 26th September. So keep your eyes peeled!

To take part in Matt’s Workshop you will need your 1kg bag of plaster (pick up from Glassworks)

📍Some sand in a bucket/a sandpit/go to the beach or use soil in your garden.

📍A measuring jug

📍A flexible mixing bowl or something like an old ice cream tub.

📍A collection of bits and bobs such as sticks and bottle tops.

Turner Schools KS3 Art Exhibition July 2020 Take a look at the amazing artwork produced by scholars from Turner Free School and students from Folkestone Academy.

**Calling all students in Years 7, 8 & 9**

This is a reminder to send in your artwork to the Art Department via Google Classrooms for the end of term exhibition.

To qualify for the exhibition you need to upload a new piece of work which has been influenced by the artists and techniques you have studied over these google tasks. You do not need to use all of the artists or skills, maybe the ones you have enjoyed the most or want to practice more.

The theme of your artwork is up to you!

Don't forget to include a short explanation of which skills you have used and why.

The landscapes can be created by painting, drawing, a photograph or using any other medium of your choice.
