This year, St Georges Primary School Sheppey have really enjoyed working with Karla Harris and the 'create and sing team' from the Royal Opera House.

Last term, the pupils in year 5 worked with the Royal Opera House to put on three acts from Hansel and Gretel (see below!). Headteacher Mr Fisher said:

"We were proud to have completed this project with other schools on the island, and to have been able to use the theatre at EKC Sheppey Secondary School."

Well done St George's, brilliant performance! 🤩

Last term St Clement's CE Primary School had their sensory room completed, alongside their ark! The children have had lots of fun exploring the spaces already.

Deputy Headteacher and SENDCO Mrs French said:

"We feel incredible fortunate to have been given the opportunity to create our new sensory spaces with the school, made possible through funding we successfully secured from VSK (Virtual School Kent) and our Swale communities of school.

Working alongside the fantastic team at SpaceKraft, these spaces have been thoughtfully designed and expertly crafted to meet the diverse and expertly crafted to meet the diverse needs of our children. The result is a truly engaging and supportive environment that promotes wellbeing, focus and sensory development.

We are absolutely delighted with the outcome – and most importantly, so are the children."

Incredible spaces that will improve the wellbeing of children across the school, well done St Clem's! 🤩

We're all very proud of Charing CE Primary School Ofsted report, as the inspector praises the school's 'palpable sense of ambition'! 🥳

School inspectors have praised Charing for its rapid improvement and “highly ambitious” curriculum.

In their report, published this month, Ofsted inspectors rated Charing Church of England Primary School in Ashford as ‘Strong’ in six of seven areas and ‘Expected’ in just one.

Inspectors said leaders have "an almost palpable sense of ambition for every pupil". They found that all pupils, including those with multiple barriers to learning, achieve very well and are "very well prepared for their next steps".

A huge well done to the whole school community 🙌
