🌿 **Turner Schools Green Action Community Day 2026** 🌿

Our pupils and staff went above and beyond on Thursday for this year's 💚Turner Schools Green Action Community Day💚, making a real difference across our local communities.

With a focus on sustainability and environmental action, pupils from across the Trust took part in a fantastic range of activities. From litter picking and creating inspiring art installations to delivering bird feeders and water-saving packs to local residents, as well as sharing food and plants, they demonstrated kindness, creativity and a real commitment to caring for our environment.

A huge thank you to our incredible staff ⭐for their dedication and enthusiasm in creating unique and inspiring opportunities for our young people, all centred around taking positive green action.

We also hope everyone who visited 🎵The Goods Yard 🎭at Folkestone Harbour Arm enjoyed the wonderful performances, poetry and films showcasing our pupils' creativity and passion for protecting our planet. Thank you to the team who supported the event!

Finally, a very special thank you to 💜Folkestone & Hythe District Council💜 for their Green Grant, which made this fantastic day possible.

This event provides a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our pupils' achievements, meet members of our school communities, and enjoy an inspiring collection of creative work.

As we come to the end of the school year Wednesday 8th of July will mark the final in school training session. 💪

So it's time to celebrate the successes of the students this year. 🎉

There have been new belts, tough gradings, mentions in the ofsted report and two students looking at the daunting task of black belt assessment. 🥋

With all this in mind I would like to invite current students and any new students the opportunity to continue or start training during the summer break. Full details are included on the flyer.

Folkestone’s annual Charivari Carnival Parade is happening this Saturday, 11th July!

It promises to be a fantastic day out, so please come along, bring your family and friends, watch and cheer on the celebration. 🎉

⏰The procession will start: 2:00 PM at the Harbour and will finish around 3:30 PM at The Leas.

This year's theme is Once Upon a Carnival! 🎪✨
Celebrating classic children's literary characters - including amazing Paddington and the Gruffalo sculptures. 🐻🐾

Also keep a look out for the FA sculptures inspired by Peter Pan. ✨🧚‍♀️

We hope to see many of you there supporting the community! ❤

🚴🎉 On Friday, we officially opened Folkestone Academy's brand-new bike track!

A huge thank you to Gareth Northam, World Cup downhill rider, who did the honours of officially cutting the ribbon, and to Clark & Kent for designing and building this fantastic new facility.

We're excited to see our students making the most of this incredible space to develop their cycling skills, build confidence and most importantly, have fun!
