It’s one of our favourite times of year - the Summer Reading Challenge is almost here! Get ready to ‘Read to the Beat’ this summer at Kent Libraries 🎵 📖

The Reading Agency’s Summer Reading Challenge is back from Saturday 4 July to Saturday 5 September, giving all children aged 4 to 11 a fun, free way to enjoy reading over the summer holidays.

This year’s theme, Read to the Beat, celebrates the joy of music and the power it has to move, inspire and connect us — all through the magic of reading.

From page-turning adventures to laugh-out-loud stories, children can explore books in a way that works for them and discover new favourites along the way.

These keen singers joined with other local primary and secondary school children this week to take part in the Big Summer Sing at the Leas Cliff Hall! We are so proud of how wonderfully they represented our school with their enthusiastic singing and big smiles throughout - a huge well done to them all! 🎵🎤🎶

King Charles’ real birthday is in November, but his Official Birthday is celebrated in June so the weather is better for the famous Trooping the Colour parade! 🇬🇧🥁

Look out for marching soldiers, music, and royal celebrations — it’s a royally exciting day! ✨👑

The Wildlife Trust’s 30 Days Wild challenge is here! That means 30 days of fun outdoor activities to help us explore nature and protect wildlife. 🌍💚

You could build a bug hotel 🐛, listen to birds singing 🎶, plant flowers for bees 🐝, or go on a woodland walk 🌳. Every little adventure helps us notice the amazing wildlife all around us!

Our oceans are home to amazing animals, help us breathe, and keep our planet healthy! This year’s theme reminds us how important it is to protect our blue planet and care for the sea. 💙

Together, we can help by recycling, reducing plastic waste, and keeping beaches clean! 🌍✨

🌺 Today we remember D-Day 🌺

On 6th June 1944, brave soldiers landed on the beaches of Normandy during World War II to help bring peace and freedom to Europe.

We commemorate D-Day to remember the courage, teamwork, and sacrifice of all those who helped protect others and change history forever. ❤️
