Further partnerships in our community bearing fruit (amongst some other healthy items)... :)

https://www.coop.co.uk/environment/food-share

March has allowed us to help the Co-op reduce food waste by a further 14.46kg!

Thatโ€™s about the same weight as a Cocker Spaniel!

These brilliant donations have allowed us to keep students topped up with toast and offer other foods such as fruit salad!

It is always a pleasure to work with our partners, in this case Active Schools! ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ‘

***Moray Snooker Academy Update***

Some fantastic progress being made by BGE students on our White to Black Ball Curriculum! We have two students on the cusp of making to Green Ball level which would be a first for our school - across the board there has been a marked improvement in cueball control and potting which is fantastic!!

Previously paused competitions are now back under way and we look forward to more kicking off - keep an eye out for names being taken!! ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿฅ‡๐Ÿฅˆ๐Ÿฅ‰
Just a reminder that this support is available for our families. Please get in touch if needed... ๐Ÿ™‚

โ€ผ๏ธSCHOOL CLOSURE UPDATE โ€ผ๏ธ

We have sent an email to all parental contacts regarding the plans for the next two days.

โ—๏ธS1-3 pupils should remain at home and work will be provided via Microsoft Teams

โ—๏ธS4-6 pupils should come to school as normal. If they would like to order a school lunch they will need to complete a pre-order form at the main office

We appreciate that this is not ideal for our BGE pupils but we need to maintain a safe and supportive ratio for our young people.

โ€ผ๏ธStrike Action โ€ผ๏ธ

Pupils attending the Wednesday college courses should attend as normal.

There is planned industrial action but Moray College cannot tell us who will be impacted.

โ€ข School link staff will check on classes to see where there are lecturers absent due to industrial action

โ€ข In the event of a lecturer striking, the College will support pupils in getting home (which would most likely be via U22 free bus travel โ€“ last time, some parents also collected pupils)

โ€ข Pupils would be able to come back to school if they want to and we can accommodate them to study or attend

We wonโ€™t know who is impacted until this morning due to industrial action nature.

Apologies for this coming out now- we have been awaiting any updates to share with you all.

A huge well done to all of our senior pupils for some of our best exam results yet.

Our pupils demonstrated and displayed our MHS values in order to get the results they needed and deserved this year!

๐Ÿ’š Resilience
๐Ÿ’› Respect
๐Ÿ’š Responsibility

Our young people featured in a recent Northern Scot article celebrating their success but we got the chance to do another photo with some pupils who were on holiday the last week of term.

We want to say we are proud of everyoneโ€™s achievements this year and we know that it has spurred you all on for this next year.

14/08/2023

We are so excited to welcome everyone back tomorrow after the summer holidays.

๐Ÿ’š S1โ€™s should report to the GP hall period 1 where we will issue key information packs, new timetables to everyone and you will have a short assembly. Your Well-being and Attainment teachers will then take you back to class for the remainder of period 1.

๐Ÿ’›S2-S6 pupils should go to their Well-being and Attainment classes period 1 tomorrow, not to their timetabled class. You will also have key information packs, timetables and go through some key messages with your teacher.

Every pupil will be issued with a homework diary. These are back after some consultation with pupils last term. Hopefully these will be useful and well used by you all ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow!

07/08/2023

๐Ÿ’šUPDATE๐Ÿ’š

I am sad to report that our rainbow flag was stolen earlier this month.

As a school community we were upset that someone would do this, especially in Pride month.

However, as a school we responded as we always do in these situations- with integrity and determination to ensure that our young people know that we will always stand up for whatโ€™s right.

Our young people worked with staff to locate where the flag potentially was and who could have taken it.

I am pleased to report Police Scotland returned our flag today and it has been put back in pride of place on our flagpole.

Happy Pride Month Everyone ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ
