💚💛 Our S3 "grow your own" project is doing very well with 20kg of potatoes lifted today and given to HE department, who are making leek and potato soup next week with S2. They have also grown 2kg of soft fruit (raspberries and alpine strawberries ), which were picked over the summer and frozen ready for jam making for the Christmas fayre. 💚💛

💚💛 We are so proud to have gained our Silver Reading Schools accreditation! Well done to all involved💚💛

🎉 A big well done to Milne’s High School on achieving its Reading Schools Silver accreditation from the Scottish Book Trust!

There’s been loads of great work happening across the school to make reading fun and bring pupils, families and the wider community together.

🧸 One recent project saw S3 pupils give preloved soft toys a new lease of life by creating picture books and accessories to tell their stories 📖

🦖 They also introduced Reading with Rex to children from Milne’s Nursery. Rex is a dinosaur who wasn’t too keen on reading anything that wasn’t about dinosaurs, so the children helped him discover some new stories during a visit to the library.

📚 Rex now has a permanent home in Milne’s Library, where everyone can help him keep exploring new books and genres.

👏 A brilliant achievement and a lovely way to get more children excited about reading!
