Our S3 pupils and staff had Jen Kemp from Live n Learn in delivering sessions yesterday.

Our S3 pupils had the first session of Invigor8 Workshops focusing on current health & wellbeing themes 💚

After school we then had a staff session focusing on well-being, marginal gains and teamwork! A great staff meeting to end an amazing term 🙌🏻

A huge thank you to Fochabers Men's Shed for making our raised beds in our garden area!

We can’t wait to get our garden ready for everyone to use in the spring term 🙌🏻

💛 TANZANIA COFFEE MORNING 💛

Well done to the Tanzania Group for organising a fantastic coffee morning this morning ☕️

It was great to see so many people this morning for a cuppa and a cake 🧁

We raised over £500 today. Thank you so much to everyone who came and supported the group ⭐️

We will have a cake sale on Monday at break time for staff and pupils. Get some bargain bakes at £1 on Monday 🙌🏻

💚Wednesday Well Done 💚

Well done to our Enterprising Maths team who only went and won the Moray round on Monday at Elgin Academy 👏🏻

That’s our team through to the national finals in Glasgow 🥳

The team put in the hard work and ensured they went to the competition prepared with some extra practise sessions last week (all arranged by the team themselves) 🙌🏻

We are so proud of you all and can’t wait to see how you do later on this year in the finals!

💚 BGE Info Evening 💚

It was great to see so many parents and young people this evening at our BGE Info Evening tonight 🙌🏻

A huge thank you to our teachers for a fantastic hands on ‘Freshers Fayre’ style evening ⭐️

And to everyone for their input in the presentation of supports and opportunities available for our young people 💛

‼️SCHOOL CLOSURE UPDATE ‼️

We have sent an email to all parental contacts regarding the plans for the next two days.

❗️S1-3 pupils should remain at home and work will be provided via Microsoft Teams

❗️S4-6 pupils should come to school as normal. If they would like to order a school lunch they will need to complete a pre-order form at the main office

We appreciate that this is not ideal for our BGE pupils but we need to maintain a safe and supportive ratio for our young people.

‼️CAR PARK ‼️

Can visitors during the day and in the evenings please refrain from parking on this side of the car park.

We are getting a new roof on the school and this lane needs to remain clear for trade deliveries and vehicles.

A lovely family activity next week walking through our lovely town of Fochabers. The community have been so encouraging of this and the pupils have done a fantastic job creating questions!

'Life-changing' experience awaits in Tanzania for Milne's High group A GROUP of Milne's High students and teachers are aiming to lend a helping hand to some of the poorest people in the world.

‼️Strike Action ‼️

Pupils attending the Wednesday college courses should attend as normal.

There is planned industrial action but Moray College cannot tell us who will be impacted.

• School link staff will check on classes to see where there are lecturers absent due to industrial action

• In the event of a lecturer striking, the College will support pupils in getting home (which would most likely be via U22 free bus travel – last time, some parents also collected pupils)

• Pupils would be able to come back to school if they want to and we can accommodate them to study or attend

We won’t know who is impacted until this morning due to industrial action nature.

Apologies for this coming out now- we have been awaiting any updates to share with you all.

Our young people featured in a recent Northern Scot article celebrating their success but we got the chance to do another photo with some pupils who were on holiday the last week of term.

We want to say we are proud of everyone’s achievements this year and we know that it has spurred you all on for this next year.

We are so excited to welcome everyone back tomorrow after the summer holidays.

💚 S1’s should report to the GP hall period 1 where we will issue key information packs, new timetables to everyone and you will have a short assembly. Your Well-being and Attainment teachers will then take you back to class for the remainder of period 1.

💛S2-S6 pupils should go to their Well-being and Attainment classes period 1 tomorrow, not to their timetabled class. You will also have key information packs, timetables and go through some key messages with your teacher.

Every pupil will be issued with a homework diary. These are back after some consultation with pupils last term. Hopefully these will be useful and well used by you all 🙌🏻

We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow!

Good luck to everyone at Milne’s High School receiving their SQA exam results tomorrow. We hope you all get the grades you need and deserve.

National art honour for Milne's talented Anna THERE was a winning finale to secondary school for one talented Milne's High student when she scooped a national art award.

💚UPDATE💚

I am sad to report that our rainbow flag was stolen earlier this month.

As a school community we were upset that someone would do this, especially in Pride month.

However, as a school we responded as we always do in these situations- with integrity and determination to ensure that our young people know that we will always stand up for what’s right.

Our young people worked with staff to locate where the flag potentially was and who could have taken it.

I am pleased to report Police Scotland returned our flag today and it has been put back in pride of place on our flagpole.

💚 Introducing our new Guidance Team for August 2023 💛

Parents will have the opportunity to meet the team after the summer holidays.

Mrs Slater is in post now and already knew pupils from working with us in her Music Teacher post and then PT Raising Attainment role. She has been getting to know her Inchberry pupils since we moved to 3 houses. Mrs Slater is slightly competitive and thinks Inchberry House will win the house cup this year! ❤️

Miss Ogg will start with us in August after the summer holidays. She has been in last week and this week getting to know the team and has met some Spey pupils. Miss Ogg is super excited to meet you all when she joins us in August 💙

Mr McRitchie started on Monday and he has already been taking every opportunity to get to know all of the Tynet pupils. He has already met some parents this week and is keen to meet you all after the Summer. Mr McRitchie is looking forward to getting to know everyone in the Milne’s School Community 🧡

We are thrilled that our new Vision, Values and Aims boards have arrived.

A huge well done to our School Improvement Group for the hard work this year in making this a reality.

Pupils, parents, staff and our wider school community were consulted on our new shared Vision, Values and Aims.

We have a panel of new S2’s answering questions from everyone in P7 about their experiences of being in S1 at MHS!

A great way to alleviate any anxieties our new S1’s may have about transitioning to High School.

We have loved having you all up this week and can’t wait to have you back in August

⭐️ P7 Parent Information Evening ⭐️

It was amazing to welcome our P7 parents into MHS tonight.

They had a short presentation to start the evening and got to meet the three Guidance Teachers. Our new School Captains introduced themselves and spoke of all the pupil leadership opportunity’s for our young people at MHS.

Parents then had the opportunity for some taster lessons and to see different parts of the school.

A huge thank you to our Senior Prefects for being fantastic tour guides as always!

We hope you had a great evening and we are looking forward to working with you all when your child starts with us in August.

⭐️ A huge well done to Anna Jones ⭐️

Anna, our former S6 pupil, received an award from the Royal Scottish Academy for her amazing artwork completed in Advanced Higher Art & Design.

She won the regional award which is sponsored by Brodies. Anna was presented with her award in Edinburgh at the new offices for Brodies.

We are so proud of your achievement Anna! Your hard work and determination has paid off 💚

💛 P7 Transition- Day 1 💛

Well done to all of our new S1’s on a fantastic first day!

We had a great morning working together in our new house groups on a STEM project with Diageo 🙌🏻

Lunch time seemed to be a big hit with everyone but tomorrow will be more exciting apparently as they will get to sample some of our canteens finest foods 🍲🥖🍏
(Food is always a big hit on transition days!)

They then spent this afternoon getting to know some of our school partners who will be working closely with them when they come up in August 😊

It was amazing to see how excited everyone was to join the Mine’s High School community today. We loved it so much we will have to do it again tomorrow ⭐️

Timetables will be issued to everyone tomorrow morning. We look forward to seeing you all again tomorrow 💚

We were super impressed with all 11 pupils who were interviewed, it was definitely tough competition. We are so proud of you all for putting yourselves forward for this position 👏🏻

We look forward to seeing what the girls have planned for the year ahead for pupil leadership and new initiatives in our school 💚

House Captain interviews take place on Wednesday and Monday next week so we should be able to share our full Senior Pupil Leadership Team next week

We are so excited to be welcoming our P7 pupils up for a full weeks transition!

Our P7 Parents Information Evening is on Thursday starting at 6pm (doors open from 5.45pm).

We are all looking forward to getting to know all our new MHS pupils 💚

A huge well done to our staff on leading a successful School Improvement Showcase of the work that they have undertaken in School Improvement Groups this year.

It has been a fantastic year watching staff leading on whole school improvements.

We hope to have put young people and parents involved next year in our groups 🙌🏻

We would like to share with you Summer Stuart's achievement, On 27th May Summer took part in her very first skating club competition and came second. Well done Summer!
